Ground at Estadio Azteca will shake when Mexico and United States of America face each other in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying derby. El Tri aim to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Panama, but this will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. Wolverhampton attacker Raul Jimenez, who scored the winner in the last group game, will be the man to watch in the home team, while all Andres Guardado, Funes Mori, and Julio Dominguez have been ruled out with injuries.
The Yanks, on the other hand, did well to crush Honduras 3-0 in their last qualifying match to move one step closer to booking their place at the 2022 World Cup finals. Beating Mexico on the road, is easier said than done, and we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. El Tri defenders should have Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic, while the good news for the visitors is that Borussia Dortmund rising star Gio Reyna has overcome his injury.
Highlighted Player (Hector Herrera):
Mexico international Hector Herrera is a 26-year-old midfielder playing for Portugal giants FC Porto. Herrera began his career with Pachuca in 2010 and spent three years at the club before being sold to Porto. During his first season with the Dragons Herrera struggled for playing time, but he went on to cement his place in the starting eleven, becoming one of the most valuable players for the club.
Herrera has since them racked up over 110 performances for the Portugal side, scoring over 20 goals in the process. Full Mexico international since 2012, Hector Herrera represented his country at the 2014 World Cup.
During the summer of 2016 Herrera was heavily linked with a move away from Porto and was reported to have made a personal agreement with Italian side Napoli, but the €25 million asking price proved to be a stumbling block that ended up ruining the deal.

The United States Men’s National Soccer Team commonly referred to as the USMNT have been playing at the international level since 1916 and their debut 3-2 win at Sweden. The USMNT have first appeared at a FIFA World Cup in 1930 when they achieved their best ever result by reaching the semi-final of the competition and ultimately finishing third, which remains the joint highest finish of any team outside of the UEFA and CONMEBOL confederations.
Following the 1950 FIFA World Cup, the United States did not qualify for the tournament until 1990. The US also hosted the competition in 1994, going out to lose to Brazil in the round of 16. Hosts of the Copa America Centenario, the United States will try to record a noticeable result on home soil under the leadership of Germany legend Jurgen Klinsmann.
The US have bright history in the century-old tournament and will hope to repeat the glorious 1995 run when they finished fourth.
