Our prediction for this MLS match:
Mercedes-Benz Stadium will host Sunday’s football match between Atlanta United and Sporting KC. Atlanta United aim to keep their 100% record in the 2020 MLS season intact, and we are positive that they will stick to their attacking style of play against the Wizards. Even though key attacker Josef Martinez is out for the rest of the season, we are tempted to put our money on the Five Stripes, who are a real force to be reckoned with at home.
Sporting Kansas City, on the other hand, could not have wished for a better start to the season as they outplayed Vancouver Whitecaps (3-1) and Houston Dynamo (4-0) in the first two league fixtures. Mexico international Alan Pullido, who has netted two goals so far this term, is likely to lead the line for the visitors. Anyhow, home win should be considered as Atlanta United crushed Sporting KC in their last meeting in the MLS.
This game is postponed.
Highlighted Player (Florentin Pogba):
Florentin Pogba is a younger brother of famous French player Paul Pogba. Florentin was born in Conakry, Guinea, but he played for France U20 team. Unlike his brother, Florentin Pogba plays as a defender for Saint Etienne. He began his senior career at Sedan and he made 44 league appearances for the club in the 2011/2012 season.
In the summer of 2012 he moved to Saint Etienne, but he continued playing for Sedan on loan. After ending his loan spell with les Sangliers Florentin Pogba returned to Saint Etienne and he has been playing for the Ligue 1 outfit ever since. He scored his first goal for les Verts on 3 December n a 2-0 win over Montpellier.
On 11 August, 2010 Pogba made his Guinea debut, coming as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Mali in a friendly and he played his first competitive match for the national team in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Mozambique. It has to be noted that his twin brother Mathias plays football as well.
Highlighted Team (Sporting Kansas City):
Sporting Kansas City have been competing in Major League Soccer since 1996 and they won their first MLS Cup trophy in 2000. The club faced Chicago Fire at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington in the play-offs final and Miklos Jon Molnar scored the winner for Bob Gansler’s team. 13 years later Sporting Kansas City met with Solt Lake in the title game and they were fortunate to defeat the Royals on penalties.
The Wizards welcome their rivals at Children’s Mercy Park, but they used to play some games at Blue Valley Sports Complex, Julian Field, Hermann Stadium and Durwood Soccer Stadium in the past as well. Sporting Kansas City were founded in 1995 and the club’s original name was Kansas City Wiz.
The Wizards wear navy blue shirts and dark blue shorts when playing at home, while the colour of their away kit is blue. Former Wigan Athletic man Roger Espinosa is regarded as one of the club’s most notable players and he has been playing for the Children’s Mercy Park outfit since 2015.
