Our prediction for this Norway Eliteserien match:
Viking and Stromsgodset, the two teams who sit in the bottom half of the standings, face each other at SR-Bank Arena on Matchday 18. Viking need to get back on course as soon as possible if they are to keep their hopes of making it to the Europa League alive and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at Stromsgodset in Sunday’s football match.
Henrik Pedersen’s troops, on the other hand, are determined to escape the danger zone, but given the importance of the match for the hosts, we are tempted to put our money on the SR-Bank Arena this time out. You should bear in mind, though, that Stromsgodset do not suit Viking. It has been six years since Bjarne Berntsen’s charges recorded their last win over Henrik Pedersen’s men, but we believe that the time has come for the hosts to put an end to the negative trend.
Highlighted Team (Viking):
Founded back in 1899, Viking are both one of the oldest and the most successful Norwegian teams. The dark blues won their eight domestic trophy in 1991, but they have not been as successful in the 21st century.
Viking won the Norwegian Cup on five occasions (1953, 1959, 1979, 1989, 2001) and knocking Chelsea out of the UEFA Cup during the 2002/2003 season is considered the team’s best achievement in European competitions.
