Our prediction for this Premier League match:
After playing out a goalless draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Manchester United will be aiming to keep their title hopes alive when they take on Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday evening. The Red Devils failed to win the previous three away games in the Premier League, but it has to be noted that they are undefeated on the road in the 2020/21 season. Anthony Martial should be recalled to the starting XI, while Paul Pogba and Juan Mata remain in the recovery room.
Uruguay international Edinson Cavani is a major doubt. The Eagles, on the other hand, produced a poor display in a goalless draw with Fulham, and given the number of absentees in the home team, we are tempted to put our money on the title-chasing visitors. It has to be noted that Palace had no more than three goal attempts in the draw with Scott Parker’s troops.
Highlighted Player (Max Meyer):
Max Meyer is a footballer who began his youth career at Sardegna Oberhausen. He played for the likes of Rot-Weiss Oberhausen and Duisburg during his youth career as well and in 2009 he joined Schalke 04. Mayer played just one match for the reserve team and he scored a brace against Velbert on his debut for Schalke II.
He made his Bundesliga debut in the 2013/2014 season against Wolfsburg, coming from the bench to replace Jefferson Farfan 20 minutes before the final whistle. Max Meyer is an attacking midfielder, who is capable of playing as a striker as well and he was born on 18 September, 1995 in Oberhausen. Meyer has 17 caps for Germany U21 and he represented the national team at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The Schalke footballer made his debut for the senior team on 13 May, 2014 against Poland. He started the match, but he was substituted by Maximilian Arnold in the 76th minute of the game. He made Germany 2014 FIFA World Cup provisional squad, but eventually failed to make the cut.
Highlighted Team (Manchester United):
Over the years Manchester United have established themselves as one of the greatest clubs in world football. The Red Devils have won three European Cup (Champions League) trophies and they have clinched no less than 20 Premier League titles.
A number of top-class players were part of Manchester United in the past, but, no doubt, the club’s biggest legend is coach Sir Alex Ferguson, who was in charge of the team for 26 years. During Alex Ferguson’s spell at Old Trafford the club won a number of trophies, but the Red Devils have been struggling in all competitions ever since he retired. Louis van Gaal helped Manchester United win the FA Cup trophy in the 2015/2016 season, with Jese Lingard scoring the winner in the 2-1 triumph over Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium.
The likes of Bobby Charlton, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, George Best and Eric Cantona are the football stars that graced Old Trafford for Manchester United.
