Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Elland Road will host Saturday’s football game between Leeds United and Sheffield United. The Whites aim to build on a 2-1 win over Fulham, and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-minded approach against the rock-bottom side. Forshaw and Hernandez remain sidelined with injuries, while both Bamford and Rodrigo should be fit to face the Blades.
Sheffield United, on the other hand, are having a season to forget, and, as things stand now, they will compete in the Championship next season. Considering that the Blades are not regarded as good travellers, we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Leeds United’s party at Elland Road. All Egan, Jack Robinson, O’Connell’, Berge, and Sharp are sidelined with injuries, while Basham is rated doubtful for the match. In the first half of the season Leeds United defeated Sheffield United thanks to Patrick Bamford’s late goal.
Highlighted Player (Kalvin Phillips):
Kalvin Phillips started his youth career at Wortley Juniors, but he has been playing for Leeds United ever since he joined the Elland Road outfit at the age of 15. The 177-cm-tall midfielder has established himself as a first-team regular at Leeds, but he has yet to make his debut for the England national team.
Born in Leeds on December 2, 1995 Kalvin Phillips is a right-footed footballer whose main position is defensive midfield. However, he is used as a central midfielder as well. The English footballer scored his first ever goal for the Whites in a 2-1 loss to Cardiff City on April 11, 2015.
Kalvin Phillips made his debut for Leeds United against Wolverhampton on April 6, 2015. Nicknamed “Yorkshire Pirlo”, Phillips is known for his sharp passes and long ball distribution. He covers his defensive duties in style as well.
Highlighted Team (Sheffield United):
Sheffield United are a professional football club that compete in the Championship. The Blades finished the 2016/2017 League One campaign in top position in the standings, with the team collecting exactly 100 points in the process. Sheffield United last competed in the Premier League in the 2006/2007 season and they were more than unfortunate not to secure the top flight survival.
The Blades finished the season in 18th place in the process and it has to be noted that they were level on points with Wigan Athletic, who managed to avoid the relegation to the English second tier. Sheffield United welcome their rivals at Bramal Lane, the stadium which was opened on April 30, 1855. The current capacity of the venue is 32.702.
The club have numerous rivalries, but the most notable one is the rivalry with their city neighbors Sheffield Wednesday. The two teams face each other in the Steel City derby and it has to be noted that United share rivalry with the likes of Barnsley, Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United as well.
