Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Hull City will be aiming to cement top position in the League One standings when they take on Plymouth at Home Park on Matchday 41. The Tigers proved their worth in back-to-back wins over Crewe and Northampton, but they can’t afford any complacency in the season finale. The league leaders are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against Plymouth, and we are positive that they will find the net in Saturday’s clash. All Thomas Mayer, Richard Smallwood, Max Clark, and Brandon Fleming are likely to miss the game with injuries.
The Pilgrims, on the other hand, are stuck in the middle of the table, and seeing that they have little to play for in the remainder of the season, we are tempted to put our money on the league leaders. Both Gary Sawyer and George Cooper remain on the sidelines with injuries for the home team.
Highlighted Player (Scott Wootton):
After spending his youth career at English giants Liverpool and Manchester United, Scott Wootton played for the likes of Tranmere Rovers, Peterborough United, and Nottingham Forest on loan at senior level. In the summer of 2013, the defender signed a three-year deal with Leeds United.
Scott Wootton made 66 appearances for the Whites in the league before moving to Rotherham United on loan. In August 2016, the English footballer joined League 1 club Milton Keynes Dons, signing a two-year deal with the Stadium MK outfit. Nowadays, Scott Wootton plays for Plymouth Argyle in the League Two, where he wears the number 5 jersey.
Scott Wootton’s primary position is a centre-back, but he is capable of producing fine performances at right-back as well. The 188-cm tall defender, whose preferred foot is right, has three caps for the England U17 team. Scott Wootton was born in Birkenhead, England, on September 12, 1991.
Highlighted Team (Hull City):
Hull City are a professional football club that was founded back in 1904. The Tigers used to play their home games at Boothferry Park, but they moved to the KC Stadium in 2002. The stadium capacity is 24,450.
Hull impressed in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and, as a result, they returned to the English Premier League. Hull City fans consider Leeds United their main rivals, but Sheffield United are regarded as Hull’s fierce rivals as well. Steve Bruce took over the reins at the club in 2012 and the experienced tactician helped the team book a place in the 2013/2014 FA Cup final, but Arsenal proved to be a big catch for the Tigers in the title decider.
Hull City finished the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign in 16th place in the standings to achieve their highest ever top flight finish. It has to be noted that Curtis Davies was named the team’s player of the year in the 2013/2014 season.
