Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Alcorcon will be aiming to make amends for a 2-1 loss to Cartagena when they host Castellon at their Estadio Municipal de Santo Domingo. Alcorcon are eager to move away from the relegation zone, but it has to be noted that they extended their winless run in the league to five games at the weekend. Juan Antonio Anquela can’t count on experienced attacker Hugo Fraile for Monday’s clash the 34-year-old is sidelined through suspension.
Castellon, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Albacete and Real Oviedo. Los Albinegros, though, are only two points clear of bottom four, and we are positive that they will go for a win in Monday’s clash. Given Alcorcon’s anything but good form, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the visitors. In the first half of the season Alcorcon defeated Castellon 2-0, meaning that the visitors are hungry for revenge.
Highlighted Player (Richard Boateng):
Born in Accra, Ghana on July 10, 1992, Richard Boateng is a midfielder who plays for Alcorcon in Segunda Division. Boateng is a product of Liberty Babies football academy, with the Ghanaian starting his senior career at Liberty Professionals. In 2010 he moved to Spain, signing a deal with Granada.
During his spell with the Andalusian outfit, he mainly played for Granada B, but he spent a couple of years at loan at Cadiz B and San Roque as well. Richard Boateng made only one appearance for the Granada senior team in the league.
The Ghana international played for the likes of Aris Limassol, Extremadura, Melilla, and Oviedo as well before joining Alcorcon in 2019. His primary position is central midfielder, but he is used as an attacking midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right, and his contract with Alcorcon should expire in June 2021.
Highlighted Team (Castellon):
CD Castellon is a Spanish club based in the Valencian Community. Valencia flag dominates the club’s crest, but their home colours are white with black stripes. Castellon footballers wear green jerseys and green shorts when playing on the travels.
The club have been having their ups and downs ever since it was founded on July 20, 1922, with the team finishing fifth in the Spanish elite division in the 1972/73 season. It has to be noted that Castellon have not played in La Liga since the 1990/91 campaign when they suffered relegation to Segunda Division. Nowadays, Castellon compete in the Spanish second tier, with the team welcoming their rivals at Nou Castalia stadium.
Legendary Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque played for the club in the 1970s. Castellon’s biggest success came in the 1972/73 season as they participated in the Copa del rey final. However, Athletic Bilbao proved to be a big catch for them in the title game.
