Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Mirandes and Almeria take on each other at Estadio Municipal de Anduva in what is expected to be a close La Liga 2 game. Mirandes are eager to make amends for a 1-0 loss to Albacete, with the team aiming to move closer to the playoffs berth. However, home win should not be considered as los Rojillos have been anything but impressive at their stadium in the 2020/21 season.
Almeria, on the other hand, did well to hold league leaders Espanyol to a draw at the weekend. The Andalusians aim to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive, and seeing that they are likely to go for a win in Sunday’s clash as well, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. A man to keep an eye on in the away team will be former Partizan attacker Umar Sadiq, who is enjoying a season to remember.
Highlighted Player (Carlos Julio):
Carlos Julio Martinez is a La Masia product who plays for Mirandes in Segunda Division as a right back. Martinez started his youth career at the Barca football academy, but in 2013 he moved to Club Esportiu Europa. At the start of his senior career, the Dominican footballer played for both Villarreal B and Villarreal C before joining Marbella.
After scoring two goals in 63 appearances in the league for los Blanquillos, Carlos Julio Martinez moved to Mirandes in the summer of 2018. Speaking of his international career, Martinez made his debut with the Dominican Republic national team on December 8, 2012 in a 2-1 win over Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbean Cup.
His primary position is right-back, but he can be used as a right midfielder as well. Carlos Julio Martinez was born in Santo Domingo de Guzman, Dominican Republic, and he has a dual citizenship.
Highlighted Team (Almeria):
UD Almeria is a Spanish club based in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Los Rojiblancos are one of the newer additions to the Spanish football system, with the club being founded on July 26, 1989.
Almeria suffered relegation to Segunda Division in the 2014/15 season, and they have been competing in the Spanish second tier ever since. Los Rojiblancos are well known for their white shirts with red stripes, while blue is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Sofiane Feghouli, Felipe Melo, Diego Alves, Veljko Paunovic, Aleix Vidal, Alvaro Negredo, Tomer Hemed, and Mate Bilic are some notable footballers who played for Almeria in the past. Fellow Andalusian clubs Sevilla, Malaga, and Granada are considered the club’s fiercest rivals.
The club’s biggest success in Copa del Rey came in the 2010/11 season when they made it to the semis of the prestigious competition. Nonetheless, Catalan giants Barcelona proved to be a big catch for Almeria in the Spanish Cup semi-finals.
