New York Red Bulls and Toronto take on each other at Red Bull Arena in what is expected to be an exciting MLS clash. New York Red Bulls kicked off the new Major League Soccer campaign with back-to-back defeats to Sporting Kansas City and LA Galaxy, but they did well to beat Chicago Fire at the weekend. The Metros regained a much-needed confidence, and we are positive that they will adopt yet another attack-minded approach against Toronto.
The Reds, on the other hand, are no longer considered the team to beat in the Major League Soccer. Toronto have been struggling at the back at the start of the season, and given New York Red Bulls’ display in the triumph over Chicago, home win should definitely be considered. Toronto key midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo remains on the sidelines through injury, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on the hosts.
Highlighted Player (Daniel Royer):
Daniel Royer is an Austrian winger who was born in Schladming on May 22, 1990. After starting his youth career at local club Schladming, Royer moved to Sturm Graz in 2004. Five years later the 175-cm-tall footballer began his senior career at Pashing and after scoring 6 goals in 25 appearances for the club, he moved to Ried.
Daniel Royer played for the likes of Hannover, Koln, Austria Wien and Midtjylland as well before joining New York Red Bulls in 2016. In the 2017 MLS season the Austria international established himself as a first-team regular, scoring no less than 12 goals in the process.
Speaking of his international career, Royer made his Austria debut on June 3, 2011, replacing Martin Harnik in the EURO 2012 qualifier against Germany. Daniel Royer’s main position is left winger, but is used as a right winger as well. It has to be noted that the Austria international doesn’t have a preferred foot.

Toronto is a club based in Canada, but they have been competing in Major League Soccer since 2007. Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment own both the soccer club and National Hockey League’s Toronto Maple Leafs. BMO Field is the club’s home ground and the capacity of the stadium is 30.000.
The Canadian outfit impressed in the 2016 MLS Cup and they faced Seattle Sounders in the title game at BMO Field. However, the Canadians were more than unfortunate not to lift the silverware as they were beaten by the Sounders on penalties.
Speaking of the Canadian Championship, Toronto FC won their fifth domestic title in 2016, with the team beating Vancouver Whitecaps in the final of the tournament. Montreal Impact are considered the club’s biggest rivals and there have always been fireworks in meetings between the two Canadian sides. Toronto FC’s home kit is red and it is no surprise they are nicknamed the Reds. It has to be noted that the club was founded back in 2005.
