Our prediction for this MLS match:
All eyes will be on Red Bull Arena when New York Red Bulls and New England Revolution face each other on Sunday morning. The Metros failed to win the previous three league fixtures, with the team sharing the spoils with Philadelphia and Toronto, while losing to D.C. United. Since All Diarra, Long, Reyes, and Royer are sidelined with injuries, home win should not be considered.
The Revs, on the other hand, have been in a splendid form of late, with the team eyeing their fourth consecutive league win. Even though New England Revolution duo Tajon Buchanan – Matt Turner is on international duty at the 2021 Gold Cup, we are tempted to put our money on the in-form visitors. Adam Buksa is rated doubtful for the visiting team after suffering a head injury in the 2-1 win over Montreal.
Highlighted Player (Daniel Royer):
Daniel Royer is an Austrian winger who was born in Schladming on May 22, 1990. After starting his youth career at local club Schladming, Royer moved to Sturm Graz in 2004. Five years later the 175-cm-tall footballer began his senior career at Pashing and after scoring 6 goals in 25 appearances for the club, he moved to Ried.
Daniel Royer played for the likes of Hannover, Koln, Austria Wien and Midtjylland as well before joining New York Red Bulls in 2016. In the 2017 MLS season the Austria international established himself as a first-team regular, scoring no less than 12 goals in the process.
Speaking of his international career, Royer made his Austria debut on June 3, 2011, replacing Martin Harnik in the EURO 2012 qualifier against Germany. Daniel Royer’s main position is left winger, but is used as a right winger as well. It has to be noted that the Austria international doesn’t have a preferred foot.
Highlighted Team (New England Revolution):
Unlike famous NFL club New England Patriots, the Revolution have yet to win the domestic trophy. New England participated five times in the MLS Cup final, but they were more than fortunate not to lift the silverware. The Revs played their last final in 2014, with the team losing to LA Galaxy in the title game at StubHub Center. New England Revolution, though, clinched the North American SuperLiga trophy in 2008 and that is considered as the club’s biggest success.
It has to be noted that the Revs defeated Houston Dynamo on penalties in the final of the tournament. New England Revolution were founded in 1994 and Gillette Stadium is the home ground of the club. Legendary defender Alexi Lalas played for the Revolution (1996-1997) and he scored three goals for the Gillette Stadium outfit. Fellow USA ace Clint Dempsey was part of the team as well and you should know that he netted 25 goals in 71 league appearances for the club.
