Troyes
Strasbourg will look to record their first win of the season when they face Troyes at their Stade de la Meinau. Le Racing made a slow start to the new Ligue 1 campaign, but this game could be the turning point for Julien Stephan’s troops. Alexander Djiku is banned for the match, while both Moise Sahi Dion and Lebo Mothiba are out of contention with injuries.
The newcomers, on the other hand, do not seem to be competitive in the French top flight at the start of the season, meaning that Strasbourg will not have a better chance than this to get back on course. Issa Kabore is suspended, while all Metinho, Larouci, Hyun-Jun Suk, and Mutobmo miss the game with injuries. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since February 2018 when Strasbourg defeated Troyes 2-1.

A midfielder with a keen eye for a precise pass, Adrian Thomasson is a French international who plays for Ligue 1 side Strasbourg. Thomasson is a versatile asset who can be equally deployed in a number of different positions up front, including a holding position at the centre of the park.
He began his professional career at Evian in 2012 and spent three years with Les Roses before moving to Nantes in 2015. One league match shy from entering the 100-game club, Adrien Thomasson scored nine goals for the Canaries before joining Strasbourg in the summer of 2018.
As a player who likes to hold on to the ball and build play from behind, Thomasson boasts impressive passing ability. Albeit an attacking midfielder who can play on both wings and in advanced midfield position, this French footballer also makes quite a contribution in defense.

Founded in 1986, Troyes are considered one of the youngest clubs in French Ligue 1. Troyes returned to the top flight at the end of the 2016/2017 season, with the team finishing the regular season in third place in the Ligue 2 standings. Jean Louis Garcia’s men proved their worth in the promotion play-offs, with the team beating Lorient in the two-legged tie.
Troyes are well known for their blue shirts, but they wear white when playing on the travels. Stade de l’Aube is the club’s home ground and the stadium can hold up to 20.400 spectators. The venue was built in 1924, but it was renovated on two occasions (1956, 2004). The club have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy, but in 1956 they made it to the French Cup final.
Troyes faced Sedan in the title game and they were totally outplayed by Louis Dugauguez’s troops (3-1) at Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir. Roger Courtois’ team were three goals down after 57 minutes, but five minutes later Fernand De Vlaeminck scored a consolation goal for the Stade de l’Aube outfit.
