After their game against bitter rivals Argentina was abandoned, Brazil will be looking keep their 100% record in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers intact when they take on Peru at Maracana on Friday morning. The Selecao have been impressive in the qualifiers for the showpiece tournament, and, as a result, the bookies see them as hot favourites to beat the Peruvians.
Even though all Richarlison, Gabriel Jesus, Fred, Fabinho, Thiago Silva, Renan Lodi, Ederson, and Alisson are out of contention for the hosts, we are tempted to put our money on Tite’s troops. The good news for the hosts is that important defender Marquinhos returns from suspension. Peru, on the other hand, recorded a very important 1-0 win over Venezuela, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Friday’s qualifier. Veteran attacker Paolo Guerrero should be recalled to the starting XI.
