Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Rotherham United and Fleetwood Town go head to head at Aesseal New York Stadium in a highly-anticipated League One game. The Millers have been in a fine form of late, with the team beating Doncaster 2-0 in the league, while crushing Doncaster 6-0 in the EFL Trophy. Rotherham aim to give fans yet another reason for celebration, and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against Fleetwood.
Attacker Mikel Miller misses the game through suspension as he was sent off in the triumph over Doncaster. The Cod Army, on the other hand, continue with their habit of producing much better showings at home than on the travels, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on Rotherham. Gerard Garner is widely expected to lead the line for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Adam Thompson):
Born in Harlow, England on September 28, 1992, Adam Thompson is a defender who plays for Bury in League One. Thompson started his youth career at Watford and after making 14 appearances for the Hornets at senior level, he moved to Southend United, signing a permanent deal with the club in January, 2014.
It has to be noted that he played for the likes of Brentford, Wycombe Wanderers and Barnet on loan as well before joining the Shakers. Adam Thompson has a short loan spell at Bradford City in the 2017/2018 season, but he made no more than nine appearances for the Bantams. Despite being born in England, Adam Thompson decided to represent Northern Ireland in international matches.
He made his debut with the Northern Ireland national team on February 9, 2011, coming from the bench in a 3-0 loss to Scotland. His main position is centre-back, but he is capable of producing fine showings at right-back as well.
Highlighted Team (Fleetwood):
Known for their attacking style of play, Fleetwood Town are a professional football club based in Fletwood, Lancashire. The Fishermen play their home matches at Highbury Stadium, the venue with the capacity of 5,327 (2,672 seated), with the team wearing red and white shirts in home matches.
On the other hand, Fleetwood footballers are dressed in yellow when playing on the travels. The original club was founded back in 1908 under the name of Fleetwood FC and 69 years later they were re-established as Fleetwood Town F.C. In 1998 the club was renamed to Fleetwood Wanderers after the second reformation.
Legendary England footballer Joey Barton is considered one of the club’s most notable coaches. Barton, who was known for his incidents on the field, has been in charge since June 2, 2018. Neighbouring club Blackpool are regarded as one of Fleetwood’s main rivals. The Fishermen have built up rivalries with Morecambe and Preston North End as well.
