Our prediction for this Europa Conference League match:
Almaty Ortalyk Stadion will host the Europa Conference League game between Kairat Almaty and Omonia. The Kazakhs booked their place in the group stages of the new UEFA competition by beating Fola in the double-header, and, no doubt, they are capable of matching the Cypriotes in front of home fans. Men to watch in the home team will be Jose Kante and Vagner Love, who are likely to pose a big threat to the opposition defenders.
Omonia, on the other hand, head into the match following a 2-1 loss to AEK Larnaca in the national championship. Hening Berg’s troops are not regarded as good travelers, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Kairat’s party in Almaty. Key attacker Andronikos Kakoulis is widely expected to return to the starting line-up after he was rested in the defeat to AEK Larnaca.
Highlighted Player (Adam Lang):
Adam Lang is a Hungarian footballer who plays for Dijon as a centre-back. The centre-back is a product of Veszprem football academy and he continued playing for the club at senior level. Lang scored three goals in 44 appearances in the league for Veszprem, but he played for Gyor and Videoton in his homeland as well.
The player who was born on January 17, 1993 made 57 appearances for Gyor, while playing 23 games for Videoton in the Hungarian top flight. In the autumn of 2016 Adam Lang joined French club Dijon and he has been playing for the Mustards ever since.
The Hungarian defender played 19 games for Dijon in the 2016-17 Ligue 1 campaign, but he failed to find the net for Olivier Dall’ Oglio’s troops during the season. Adam Lang has five caps for Hungary U21 team and he made his debut for the senior team on May 22, 2014 in a 2-2 draw with Denmark.
Highlighted Team (Omonia):
Founded on June 4, 1948, Omonia are considered one of the most famous clubs in the history of Cyprus football. The Queen welcome their opponents at GSP Stadium in Nicosia. The venue was opened in 1999 and it can hold up to 22,859 spectators.
However, the stadium’s record attendance is 23,043. Omonoia are the second most successful club in Omonia, with the team winning 20 domestic championships, eight less than APOEL. On the other hand, the club clinched their 14th Cypriot Cup title in the 2011/12 season. The Cypriot outfit made their debut in the Champions League (European Cup) in the 1966/67 season, with the team suffering a heavy 10-1 loss (on agg.) to Bundesliga side 1860 Munich.
Omonia are well known for their light green home shirts, with the team wearing red when playing on the travels. The 1970s are considered the club’s golden era. Led by talented footballer Sotiris Kaiafas, Omonia won seven league titles in that decade.
