Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Global Energy Stadium will host Saturday’s Premiership game between Ross County and Hearts. The Staggies suffered an expected 3-0 loss at Celtic on Matchday 5, with the team extending their winless run to five games. Ross County are desperate to register their first win of the season, and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at Hearts on Saturday afternoon. Midfielder Harry Paton is pushing for a start, while Jake Vokins remains on the sidelines with a broken foot.
Hearts made a promising start to the season, with the team recording three wins and two draws in the process. The visitors have been impressive at the back of late, and seeing that they are brimming with confidence ahead of the trip to Dingwall, away win should be considered. Defender Jamie Brandon (ACL injury) should be the only absentee in the away side.
Highlighted Player (Ross Doohan):
Born in Clydebank, Scotland on March 29, 1998, Ross Doohan is a talented goalkeeper who plays for Ross County on loan from Celtic. Doohan is a product of the Celtic football academy, but he has yet to see a game action with the Hoops in the Premiership.
The 186-cm tall shot-stopper played for the likes of Cumbernauld Colts, Greenock Morton, and Ayr United as well before signing a loan deal with Ross County. Ross Doohan made his Ross County debut in the Premier League in a goalless draw with Hibernian on October 17, 2020.
Speaking of his international career, the Ross County goalkeeper has 11 caps with the Scotland U21 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team. He made his debut for the U21 team in a 1-1 draw with Togo U21 at the 2018 World Youth Festival in Toulon. His preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Hearts):
Founded in 1874, Hearts are professional football club that compete in the Scotland Premiership. The Jam Tarts welcome their rivals at Tynecastle Park Gorgie, the stadium which can hold up to 20,000 spectators.
While the original Hearts strip was all white shirts and trousers with maroon trimmings, the club’s current home kit is all maroon with a white-collar. Hearts have won the Scottish Premier League title four times (1894/95, 1896/97, 1957/58, 1959/60), but they have been in Celtic and Rangers’ shadows in the 21st century. Hibernian are considered the club’s fiercest rivals. The two teams first met back in 1875 on Christmas Day, with Hearts winning the match 1-0. The Tynecastle Park Gorgie recorded their biggest win in 1880, with the team rolling over Anchor 21-0 in the FA Cup.
The club’s heaviest defeat came eight years later as Hearts were beaten by Vale of Leven 8-1 in the Scottish Cup. John Robertson is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart, with the left winger netting 214 goals for the club.
