Our prediction for this Championship match:
KCOM Stadium will host Saturday’s football game between Hull City and Sheffield United, the two teams who have been struggling at the start of the season. The Tigers have collected only five points from possible 21, and, no doubt, they are low on spirits following a 2-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers. Both Alfie Jones and George Honeyman are sidelined with injuries for the home team.
The Blades, on the other hand, still believe they could secure a quick return to the Premier League, but their displays at the start of the season are not giving fans a reason for optimism. Sheffield United are eager to escape the danger zone, and it seems as if they will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways. Veteran attacker Billy Sharp should continue to lead the line for the visitors, while all David McGoldrick, Lys Mousset, Enda Stevens, and Jack O’Connell are sidelined with injuries. Ben Davies has been tested positive for coronavirus.
Highlighted Player (Callum Elder):
Callum Elder is an Australia international who plays for Hull City in the League One. Elder started his youth career at Manly United, but in 2011 he was spotted by Leicester City scouts. Despite being a Leicester City player from 2013 to 2019, he did not see any game action with the Foxes in the Premier League.
Callum Elder played for the likes of Mansfield Town, Peterborough United, Brentford, Barnsley, Wigan Athletic, and Ipswich Town before signing a three-year contract with the Tigers for an undisclosed fee. Speaking of his international career, the pacey left-back has one cap with the Australia U20 team.
Elder’s favourite position is left-back, but he is capable of producing fine displays as a centre-back as well. Elder wears the No. 3 jersey at Hull City, and he is an athletic full-back who likes getting up and down the left-hand side. The Australian player was born on January 27, 1995.
Highlighted Team (Sheffield United):
Sheffield United are a professional football club that compete in the Championship. The Blades finished the 2016/2017 League One campaign in top position in the standings, with the team collecting exactly 100 points in the process. Sheffield United last competed in the Premier League in the 2006/2007 season and they were more than unfortunate not to secure the top flight survival.
The Blades finished the season in 18th place in the process and it has to be noted that they were level on points with Wigan Athletic, who managed to avoid the relegation to the English second tier. Sheffield United welcome their rivals at Bramal Lane, the stadium which was opened on April 30, 1855. The current capacity of the venue is 32.702.
The club have numerous rivalries, but the most notable one is the rivalry with their city neighbors Sheffield Wednesday. The two teams face each other in the Steel City derby and it has to be noted that United share rivalry with the likes of Barnsley, Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United as well.
