Our prediction for this Europa Conference League match:
Neo GSP Stadium will host Thursday’s Conference League game between Omonia and Qarabag. The Cypriotes played out a goalless draw with Kairat in Kazakhstan in their opener, and yet another low-scoring affair is on the cards. You should bear in mind that under 2.5 goals have been netted in four of their last six league fixtures. Serbia international Marko Scepovic returns to contention after missing the first group game with injury.
Qarabag, on the other hand, did well to hold Basel to a goalless draw win the opening match of their Conference League campaign. The Azeri have been playing some low-scoring games of late as well, and, taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on under 2.5 goals. Defender Badavi Huseynov remains on the sidelines through injury for the visitors.
Highlighted Player (Adam Lang):
Adam Lang is a Hungarian footballer who plays for Dijon as a centre-back. The centre-back is a product of Veszprem football academy and he continued playing for the club at senior level. Lang scored three goals in 44 appearances in the league for Veszprem, but he played for Gyor and Videoton in his homeland as well.
The player who was born on January 17, 1993 made 57 appearances for Gyor, while playing 23 games for Videoton in the Hungarian top flight. In the autumn of 2016 Adam Lang joined French club Dijon and he has been playing for the Mustards ever since.
The Hungarian defender played 19 games for Dijon in the 2016-17 Ligue 1 campaign, but he failed to find the net for Olivier Dall’ Oglio’s troops during the season. Adam Lang has five caps for Hungary U21 team and he made his debut for the senior team on May 22, 2014 in a 2-2 draw with Denmark.
Highlighted Team (Qarabag):
Over the years Qarabag have established themselves as one of the best teams in Azerbaijan. The club was founded in 1951 and they were playing under the name of Mehsul back then. Qarabag won their first trophy in the national championship in 1993, beating Khazar Sumgayit in the title game.
In the 2015/2016 season they won their fourth domestic trophy, with the team finishing the season 22 points clear of second-placed Zira. Qarabag participated in the 2016/2017 Champions League qualifiers, but they were more than unfortunate to suffer a loss to Viktoria Plzen in the two-legged tie. The Azerbaijan outfit were beaten by the Czechs on away goal rule and, as a result, they made it to the Europa League playoffs.
Thanks to a win over Goteborg in the double-header Qarabag made it to the knockout stages of the competition. The Horsemen play their home games at Azersun Arena and their home colours are black. Qarabag play their away games in white kits.
