Wigan Athletic will be looking to make amends for the EFL Cup defeat to Sunderland when they take on Cheltenham Town in the League One round 9. The Latics are eyeing their fifth consecutive league win, and seeing that first-team regulars Wyke, Lang, Keane, McClean, to name just a few, return to the starting XI, it is no wonder the bookies see them as favourites to win Saturday’s clash. Wigan Athletic are after their fourth home win of the season.
In their last league match the Latics outclassed Accrington 4-1. The Robins, on the other hand, did well to beat both Charlton Athletic and Oxford United in the previous two league fixtures. Cheltenham Town have been showing signs of improvement of late, but seeing that they experienced all sorts of problems at the back in the EFL Cup loss (1-4) to Preston, we are tempted to put our money on the promotion-chasing hosts.
