Our prediction for this Championship match:
QPR and Preston face each other in a highly-anticipated Championship game at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium. The Hoops did well to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to West Brom, with the team beating Birmingham City at home ground, but they need to keep on winning if they are to book their place in the playoffs. A man to watch in the home team will be Ilias Chair, who scored a brace in the midweek triumph, while both Field and Wallace are sidelined through injuries.
The Lilywhites, on the other hand, played out a 1-1 draw with Stoke City in their last league match. Considering that QPR and Preston seem to be evenly matched at the moment, we are tempted to put our money on draw. All Barkhuizen, Brown, Evans, Olosunde, and Wickham have been struggling with injuries of late.
Highlighted Player (Tom Carroll):
Tom Carroll is a professional English footballer who plays for Swansea City as a midfielder. The 177-cm tall is a product of Tottenham football academy and it has to be noted that he made 27 appearances for Spurs at senior level, scoring one goal. He found the net in a 3-0 win over Norwich City in the 2015/2016 season.
After ending his loan spells with the likes of Leyton Orient, Derby County and Queens Park Rangers, Tom Carroll signed a permanent deal with the Swans in the winter of 2017. Tom Carroll has 17 caps for England U21 team, but he has yet to make his debut for the senior team.
His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as both left and right midfielder as well. Tom Carroll’s preferred foot is left and his contract with the Welsh outfit should expire on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Preston):
Preston North End or Preston were founded in 1880. The Lilywhites or the Invincibles play their home games at Deepdale, the stadium that was built in 1875 and opened three years later.
In 1889 Preston won their first FA Cup trophy and they did well to beat Huddersfield Town in the final of the 1938 FA Cup final. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1889 and 1890 when they won back-to-back domestic trophies (First Division).
Preston have yet to win the League Cup title, but they were runners-up in 1888, 1922, 1937, 1954, 1964. Preston’s main rivals are Blackpool and the two teams square off against each other in the West Lancashire derby. In their first ever meeting in the West Lancashire derby (1901) Preston recorded a 4-1 win over Blackpool.
Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are considered Preston’s big rivals as well. The colour of Preston’s shirts is white and they wear dark blue shorts.
