Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Saturday’s football game at Whaddon Road pits together Cheltenham Town and Accrington. The Robins aim to put an end to their three-game losing run, but given their shaky defence, we do not believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts. You should bear in mind that Cheltenham conceded nine goals in total in the previous three league fixtures.
Accrington, on the other hand, did well to beat Ipswich Town 2-1 in their last league match, with the team climbing to 11th place in the standings. John Coleman’s troops aim to move closer to the League One playoffs berth, and they should take advantage of Cheltenham Town’s poor form. As always, a man to watch in the away team will be Colby Bishop, who scored his third goal of the season in the triumph over Ipswich Town.
Highlighted Player (Chris Hussey):
Born in Hammersmith, England, Christopher Hussey is an experienced defender who plays for Cheltenham Town in the League Two. After spending his youth career at the likes of Woking and AFC Wimbledon, Hussey continued playing for the Dons at senior level.
He played for a number of English clubs in the past, but, no doubt, the most notable one is Sheffield United. Chris Hussey made seven appearances for the Blades in the League One, but nowadays he is a League Two player. His main position is left-back, but he is capable of producing fine displays as a left midfielder as well.
It has to be noted that he was called up for the England C team as a standby. Christopher Hussey made his Cheltenham Town debut on August 21, 2018 in a 1-1 draw with Macclesfield Town. He scored his first goal with the Robins in a 4-2 loss to Mansfield Town.
Highlighted Team (Accrington):
Founded back in 1891 and reformed in 1968, Accrington Stanley are an English football club that compete in the League One. The original team competed in the Football League from 1921 to 1962, spending the last four seasons in Lancashire Combination.
The Accy are well known for their red home kit, whilst they wear sky blue shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels. The League One side play their home games at Crown Ground, the stadium which can hold up to 5,450 spectators (3,100 seated). Accrington have been playing at Crown Ground since 1970.
Listed as the all-time favourite player amongst fans, Chris Grimshaw is one of the most famous Accrington Stanley footballers. However, George Stewart is the team’s top scorer, netting 136 goals in total from 1954 to 1958. It has to be noted that the Accy have yet to represent England in European competitions.
