There will be fireworks when Rotherham United and Portsmouth go head to head at Aesseal New York Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Millers have been in a fine form of late, with the team beating both AFC Wimbledon and Cheltenham in style in the previous two league fixtures. Rotherham United aim to climb to automatic promotion places, and the bookies see them as hot favourites to win Saturday’s football match.
A man to watch in the home team will be experienced midfielder Will Grigg, who has found his goal-scoring touch of late. The Pompey, on the other hand, did well to crush Sunderland at home in their last league match. Born in Harlow, England on September 28, 1992, Adam Thompson is a defender who plays for Bury in League One. Thompson started his youth career at Watford and after making 14 appearances for the Hornets at senior level, he moved to Southend United, signing a permanent deal with the club in January, 2014.
It has to be noted that he played for the likes of Brentford, Wycombe Wanderers and Barnet on loan as well before joining the Shakers. Adam Thompson has a short loan spell at Bradford City in the 2017/2018 season, but he made no more than nine appearances for the Bantams. Despite being born in England, Adam Thompson decided to represent Northern Ireland in international matches.
He made his debut with the Northern Ireland national team on February 9, 2011, coming from the bench in a 3-0 loss to Scotland. His main position is centre-back, but he is capable of producing fine showings at right-back as well.
