Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
PSG will be aiming to retain top position in the Ligue 1 standings when they take on Angers at their Parce des Princes on Friday evening. Les Parisiens are eager to make amends for a 2-0 loss to Rennes, but they will have to do it without star players Neymar and Leo Messi, who represented Brazil and Argentina respectively in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Both Paredes and Di Maria are out of contention as well, while Sergio Ramos, Juan Bernat, and Ismael Gharbi are sidelined with injuries. Les Scoistes, on the other hand, are enjoying a very successful first half of the season, with the team sitting in 4th place ahead of the trip to Paris. Anyhow, home win should be considered as Mauricio Pochettino has strength in depth. Midfielder Zinedine Ould Khaled should be the only absentee in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Lionel Messi):
Lionel Messi is regarded as one of the best players in the history of football. He was born on 24 June, 1987 in Rosario and he began his football career at Newell’s Old Boys. At age 10 he was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency, but having realized his potential at a young age, Barcelona decided to pay for his treatment.
Messi joined Barca in 2001 and he has been playing for the Camp Nou outfit ever since. The Argentine magician has won eight La Liga trophies with Barca and he helped the Catalan giants lift no less than four Champions League titles (2005/2006, 2008/2009, 2010/2011, 2014/2015).
In the 2011/2012 La Liga campaign Messi scored 50 goals for Barca, while netting 14 goals in the 2011/2012 Champions League campaign. The five-time Golden Ball award winner has established himself as Barcelona’s all-time top scorer, but he has yet to win a trophy with Argentina national team at major tournaments. Leo Messi, though, has won Olympic Gold Medal (2008) and FIFA World Youth Championship (2005), with la Albiceleste.
Highlighted Team (Angers):
French Football Federation was founded in 1919, with French football club Angers being founded the same year. Les Scoistes returned to the French top flight at the end of the 2014/2015 season and they finished the 2015/2016 Ligue 1 campaign in ninth place in the standings.
Angers were having their ups and downs in the 2016/2017 season and, as a result, they finished 12th. Les Scoistes are well known for their black jerseys with white stripes, whilst the color of their away kits is white. Stade Raymond Kopa is the team’s home ground and the capacity of the stadium is 17.835.
The venues was opened back in 1912 and the stadium’s record attendance is 22.989 (April 26, 1969 vs. Olympique Marseille). Speaking of the club’s most notable players, we have to mention Fahid Ben Khalfallah, Vladica Kovacevic, Claudiu Keseru, Paul Alo’o, Amar Rouai and Cedric Daury. It has to be noted that the 2017/2018 season will be their 24th in the French top flight.
