Our prediction for this Championship match:
After playing out a 2-2 draw with Derby County in midweek, Luton Town will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Championship round 14 on Saturday afternoon. The Hatters are undefeated in the previous four league fixtures, with the team netting nine goals in total in these games. Both Naismith and Clark are likely to drop to the bench, with Onyedinma and Muskwe stepping up. The likes of Hylton and Potts are rated doubtful for the game.
The Tigers, on the other hand, head into the match following back-to-back defeats to Huddersfield and Peterborough. Hull City were not capable of beating one of the worst teams in the league at home ground, and it is no wonder the bookies see them as underdogs in Saturday’s clash. Since Luton have been impressive in front of goal of late, home win should be considered. To make things even worse for the visitors, important midfielder Tom Huddlestone suffered an injury in the midweek defeat.
Highlighted Player (Simon Sluga):
Simon Sluga is a Croatian goalkeeper who plays for Luton Town in the Championship. Born in Porec on March 17, 1993, the 191-cm-tall shot-stopper started his youth career at hometown club Jadran Porec before joining famous Croatian club Rijeka.
After spending two years on loan Juventus Primavera and Verona Primavera, Simon Sluga signed a professional contract with Rijeka in 2013. It has to be noted that he played for the likes of Pomorac, Lokomotiva Zagreb and Spezia on loan as well before moving to England. The Luton Town goalkeeper represented Croatia U17, U18, U19, U20 and U21 teams in international matches and he made his senior team debut on June 11, 2019 in a friendly against Tunisia.
The Vatreni were beaten by the African side 2-1 in Varazdin, with Simon Sluga playing a full 90 minutes for Zlatko Dalic’s team. His contract with Luton Town should expire on June 30, 2022.
Highlighted Team (Hull City):
Hull City are a professional football club that was founded back in 1904. The Tigers used to play their home games at Boothferry Park, but they moved to the KC Stadium in 2002. The stadium capacity is 24,450.
Hull impressed in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and, as a result, they returned to the English Premier League. Hull City fans consider Leeds United their main rivals, but Sheffield United are regarded as Hull’s fierce rivals as well. Steve Bruce took over the reins at the club in 2012 and the experienced tactician helped the team book a place in the 2013/2014 FA Cup final, but Arsenal proved to be a big catch for the Tigers in the title decider.
Hull City finished the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign in 16th place in the standings to achieve their highest ever top flight finish. It has to be noted that Curtis Davies was named the team’s player of the year in the 2013/2014 season.
