Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Stade Auguste-Delaune will host Sunday’s football game between Reims and Troyes, the two teams who sit in the danger zone ahead of Matchday 11. Reims head into the match following a 1-1 draw with Brest, with the team eyeing their third win of the season. Les Rouges et Blancs, though, head into the game with a severely-weakened squad, with Hugo Ekitike missing out through suspension, while all Thomas Foket, Marshall Munetsi, Mathieu Cafaro, Fraser Hornby, and Arber Zeneli are sidelined with injuries.
Troyes, on the other hand, desperately needed a win against Nice, and they managed to get one thanks to Mama Balde’s goal. The newcomers, though, are not regarded as good travelers, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Reims’ party at Stade Auguste-Delaune. All Yasser Larouci, Philippe Sandler, Banhie Zoukrou, Florian Tardieu, Karim Azamoum, and Metinho are likely to miss the game with injuries for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Moussa Doumbia):
A Malian midfielder Moussa Doumbia has been with Russian side FK Rostov since 2014. The 22-year-old powerful midfielder started his career with Real Bamako in 2012. Doumbia spent two years playing for the Scorpions in the Malien Premiere Division, the top rank in the country. Russian side recognised his talent and made a transfer in 2014 tying Moussa Doumbia on a four-year deal.
During two seasons with Russian Premier League outfit, Doumbia was involved in 31 league matches. In 2015-16 season he contributed to his club’s runners-up finish with two goals of his own. Full-time Mali international made his national team debut in 2014 in a 3-1 victory over China in Shenzen.
His most recent international appearances occurred in September during an empathic 5-2 win over Benin in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. Doumbia went on to score his team’s fifth goal with eleven minutes on the clock rounding off an impressive performance.
Highlighted Team (Troyes):
Founded in 1986, Troyes are considered one of the youngest clubs in French Ligue 1. Troyes returned to the top flight at the end of the 2016/2017 season, with the team finishing the regular season in third place in the Ligue 2 standings. Jean Louis Garcia’s men proved their worth in the promotion play-offs, with the team beating Lorient in the two-legged tie.
Troyes are well known for their blue shirts, but they wear white when playing on the travels. Stade de l’Aube is the club’s home ground and the stadium can hold up to 20.400 spectators. The venue was built in 1924, but it was renovated on two occasions (1956, 2004). The club have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy, but in 1956 they made it to the French Cup final.
Troyes faced Sedan in the title game and they were totally outplayed by Louis Dugauguez’s troops (3-1) at Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir. Roger Courtois’ team were three goals down after 57 minutes, but five minutes later Fernand De Vlaeminck scored a consolation goal for the Stade de l’Aube outfit.
