Our prediction for this World Cup 2026 match:
Egypt will be aiming to book their place at the 2022 World Cup finals when they take on Angola at Estadio 11 de Novembro on Friday evening. The Pharaohs are eyeing their fourth win of the process, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at Angola. As always, a man to watch in the away team will be Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah, who is enjoying yet another season to remember.
Both Tarek Hamed and Ahmed Sayed have been left out of the squad, while Mohamed Sherif and Magdi Afsha return to the squad. Angola, on the other hand, have nothing to play for in Friday’s clash as they missed out on a place at the next year’s showpiece tournament. Given Egypt’s display in a 3-0 crushing of Libya, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the Group F leaders. Midfielder Papel Ary is banned for the hosts.
Highlighted Player (Bastos Quissanga):
Born in Luanda (Angola) on November 23, 1991, Bastos Jacinto Quissanga is a powerful defender who plays for Serie A side Lazio. Bastos started his senior career at domestic club Petro de Luanda and after scoring 6 goals in 105 appearances in the league for Os Tricolores, he moved to Russia in 2013, signing a deal with the Premier League side Rostov.
The 184-cm-tall defender proved his worth in the Russian top flight and, as expected, he decided to take a step forward in his career, signing a contract with famous Serie A team Lazio. Bastos failed to establish himself as a first-team regular with the Biancocelesti, but he plays an important role at the Angola national team. Bastos, whose main position is centre-back, made his international debut for the Palancas Negras on August 10, 2011 in a goalless draw against Liberia. His preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Egypt):
Egypt are an African football team that plays their home games at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria. Over the years Egypt have established themselves as the most successful national team in Africa and you should bear in mind that they won their seventh African Cup of Nations trophy in 2010.
The Pharaohs participated at the World Cup finals on two occasions (1934 and 1990) and they failed to make it to the knockout stages of the showpiece tournament. Egypt suffered a 4-2 loss to Hungary on their World Cup debut and it has to be noted that the African team scored no more than one goal at the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
Ahmed Hassan is the player with the most caps for the Egyptian national team (184), while Hossam Hassan is the team’s top scorer (68). The colour of Egypt’s home kit is red and white and the Pharaohs play their away games in white shits and black shorts.
