Second place in Group J will be at stake when Armenia and North Macedonia face each other at Republican Stadium on Thursday evening. The Armenians aim to put an end to their five-game winless run, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the Macedonians. Keep in mind, though, that head coach Joaquin Caparros will watch the game from the stands as he was sent off in a heart-breaking loss to Romania in October.
As always, a man to watch in the home team will be Roma ace Henrikh Mkhitaryan. North Macedonia, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a heavy 4-0 loss to Germany, and seeing that the visitors will go for a win as well, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. The bad news for the visitors is that Arijan Ademi has been ruled out with injury.

David Arshakyan is a Russian footballer who currently plays for Chicago Fire as a striker. Arshakyan was born on August 16, 1994 and he played for local club Smena St. Petersburg during his youth career. On the other hand, he started his professional career with Armenian club FC Mika, but he made no more than three appearances for the Mika Stadium outfit.
The Russian footballer then joined Lithuanian side FK Trakai and he scored 36 goals in 57 appearances for the club in two seasons. On July 28, 2016 he produced probably the best performance of his career as he scored a hat-trick in a victory over FK Utenis Utena. Six days later it was announced that he would join MLS side Chicago Fire on a two-year deal.
Arshakyan made his debut for the club on August 27, 2016, coming as a substitute after 56 minutes. Speaking of his international career, the Chicago Fire attacker debuted for Armenian national team on September 4, 2016 against Denmark.

Former Yugoslavian republic North Macedonia became member of both FIFA and UEFA in 1994 and they have been competing on the international stage ever since. The Crveni Risovi rolled over Slovenia (4-1) in their first ever official match and the team recorded their biggest win on November 9, 11996, with the team crushing minnows Liechtenstein 11-1 in Eschen-Mauren.
The North Macedonians have yet to qualify for the finals of a major tournament despite the fact that several high-profile footballers played for the former Yugoslav republic. Goran Pandev is undisputedly the team’s most notable player as he played for the likes of Lazion, Inter, Napoli and Galatasaray during his professional career.
Pandev scored his 28th and 29th goal for North Macedonia in a 3-0 win over Belarus in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. However, Goce Seldloski is the most capped player (100). North Macedonia welcome their rivals at Philip II Arena and they wear red shirts with yellow stripe and red shorts when playing at home ground. The colour of their away kits is white.
