Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Estadio Municipal Cartagonova will host Monday’s football game between Cartagena and Tenerife, the two top-table sides. Cartagena have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team producing much better showings at home than on the travels. Several first-team regulars were rested in the Copa del Rey win over Racing Roja, but Luis Carrion is going to field the best possible side against Tenerife.
Los Insulares, on the other hand, are eyeing their third consecutive league win. Tenerife, though, are not regarded as good travelers, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on draw. Michel could be recalled to the starting XI after finding the net as a substitute in the last league match. It has to be noted that the two teams played out a boring goalless draw in their last meeting in the Spanish second tier.
Highlighted Player (Álex Gallar):
Alex Gallar is a Spanish footballer, who plays for Huesca in La Liga. Alex Gallar’s main position is left winger, but he is used as both right winger and left midfielder as well. Born in Terrasa (Spain) on March 19, 1992, Alex Gallar began his youth career at his hometown club Terrasa, but in 2010 he moved to Mallorca youth academy.
Speaking of his senior career, Alex Gallar played for Terrassa, Mallorca B, Murcia B, Rubi, Cornella, Hercules and Cultural Leonesa before joining Huesca in 2017. Gallar quickly established himself as a first-team regular at Huesca and it has to be noted that he scored five goals in 24 appearances for the El Alcoraz outfit in the 2017/2018 Segunda Division campaign.
The Spanish winger helped Huesca secure promotion to La Liga, with the player making his debut in the Spanish elite division in a 2-1 away win over Eibar. Alex Gallar’s contract with Huesca should expire on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Tenerife):
Tenerife is a Spanish club based in the Canary Islands. Tenerife were founded on November 21, 1912, with the team playing home games at Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez. The stadium was opened on July 25, 1925 and it can hold up to 22,824 spectators.
Los Insulares established them as the elite division club in the 1990s, but in 1999 the team suffer relegation to La Liga 2. Tenerife played in la liga two seasons more (2001/02, 2009/10), but they have been competing in lower leagues ever since. Los Insulares wear white and blue shirts when playing at home, whereas light green is the dominant colour of their away kit.
Tenerife participated in the UEFA Cup in the 1993/94 season, with the team eliminating the likes of Auxerre and Olympiakos before losing to Juventus in the last 16. Three years later the Spanish club did remarkably well to make it to the UEFA Cup semis. Las Palmas are considered Tenerife’s main rivals.
