Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Real Sociedad B and Real Valladolid square off against each other at Reale Arena in the Segunda Division round 21. The Basques made a promising start to the season, but they do not seem to be at their sharpest ahead of the visit of La Pucela. Real Sociedad B are on a four-game losing run in the Spanish second tier, and, no doubt, they are low on spirits ahead of Sunday’s clash. All Argoitia, Djouahra, and Karrikaburu are pushing for a start for the home team.
Real Valladolid, on the other hand, are eyeing automatic promotion to Primera Division. La Pucela outplayed Real Oviedo in their last league match, and given Real Sociedad B’s four-game losing run, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the visiting team. A man to keep an eye on in the away team will be Israel international Shon Weissman, who has been scoring goals for fun of late.
Highlighted Player (Óscar Plano):
A Madrid-born attacking midfielder, Oscar Plano was given a unique opportunity not many footballers get at the beginning of their fledgling careers. As a talented youngster making his first football steps with a local side of Mostoles, Oscar Plano was soon grabbed by mighty Real Madrid.
Having spent eight years going through youth setups of the La Liga heavyweights, Plano was given his competitive debut at Real Madrid C in 2010. A season later earned him a promotion to Real Madrid’s B setup where in three seasons in total he made 63 league appearances and scored 7 goals. Having become fully aware that a chance to represent one of the biggest clubs in the world might be unachievable, Oscar Plano moved to Alcoron in 2014.
More than a 100 matches in three years at Santo Domingo made him one of the key players for Los Alfareros. The Spanish midfielder made a great contribution with helping Valladolid secure promotion to Spanish top flight in 2017/18 with 44 La Liga 2 appearances and 6 goals.
Highlighted Team (Valladolid):
Real Valladolid is a Spanish club based in Valladolid, the part of the autonomous community of Castille and Leon. Founded in 1928, Real Valladolid play their home matches at Jose Zorilla, the venue that has the capacity 26,512. La Pucela have yet to win the La Liga title, but it is important to note that they finished fourth at the end of the 1962/1963 season.
Real Valladolid made it to the Spanish Cup final on two occasions (1949/1950, 1988/1989). In 1984 they won Copa de la Liga (League Cup), which is considered the team’s biggest success. Speaking of their European records, Real Valladolid participated in the 1989/1990 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup quarter-finals.
La Pucela are well known for their purple and white shirts, but they are known for some top-class footballers as well. The likes of Diego Costa, Cuauhtemoc Blanco, Borja Fernandez, Rene Higuita, Luis Garcia and Aritz Aduriz played for Real Valladolid in the past.
