All eyes will be on Stade Matmut Atlantique when Bordeaux and Strasbourg go head to head in the Ligue 1 round 22. Les Girondins aim to make amends for a heavy 6-0 loss to Rennes, but they face a difficult task in Sunday’s clash. Both Elis and Fransergio are pushing for a start, while Issouf Sissokho serves a one-game ban. Both Jean Onana and Gideon Mensah are on international duty.
Le Racing, on the other hand, are eager to represent France in European competitions next season. Strasbourg are more of a team than Strasbourg, and seeing that les Girondins experienced all sorts of problems at the back in their last league match, we predict that the visitors are going to emerge triumphant in Sunday’s showdown. Both Diallo and Djiku are on Africa Cup of Nations, speaking of the away side.

Edson Andre Sitoe “Mexer”, who was born in Maputo, Mozambique on September 8, 1988, began his senior career at Desportivo Maputo and he scored three goals in 97 appearances for the club. Mexer played for his home-town club from 2006 to 2010 and in the winter of 2010 he joined Portuguese side Sporting for a fee of €173,000.
The Mozambique centre-back was quickly loaned to Olhanense and it has to be noted that he made 39 appearances for the Primeira Liga club in the league. In 2012 he was sold to fellow Portuguese outfit Nacional and after playing 57 league games for the club, Mexer moved to France. The 187-cm-tall footballer signed a contract with Rennes in January, 2014 and he has been playing for les Rouges et Noirs ever since.
Mexer made his debut for Mozambique national team in 2007 and he represented Os Mambas at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations. He scored his first goal for Mozambique in a 5-0 win over South Sudan in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Founded back in 1906, Strasbourg is a professional football team that compete in French Ligue 1. Le Racing did remarkably well to win the 1979 Ligue 1 trophy and that is considered the biggest success in the history of the club. Strasbourg won Coupe de France on three occasions (1951, 1966, 2001) and they have three Coupe de la Ligue trophies as well (1964, 1997, 2005). Strasbourg’s main rivals are Metz and the two teams face each other in the Derby de l’Est (The Eastern derby).
Le Racing recorded their biggest victory over Valenciennes (10-0) in the 1937-1938 season, whilst they suffered their biggest loss to Limoges (0-8) in the 1959/1960 season.
