Valencia and Athletic Club go head to head at Estadio de Mestalla in the Copa del Rey semis, return leg. The two teams played out a 1-1 draw at Estadio San Mames Barria, and yet another close encounter is on the cards. Los Che defeated Mallorca thanks to Gabriel Paulista’s goal in their last league match, meaning that they are high on spirits ahead of the Spanish Cup showdown. Toni Lato is back from suspension, while fellow defender Jose Gaya remains in the recovery room.
The Lions, on the other hand, are eyeing their 24th Copa del Rey trophy. The Basques, though, often struggle on the travels, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on draw. All Inaki Williams, Inigo Martinez and Oihan Sancet should be recalled to the starting XI after coming as a substitute in a 4-0 loss to Barcelona, while Alex Berenguer is back from suspension.

The club from Bilbao is playing in the highest Spanish division since its founded in 1928 and is next to Real Madrid and FC Barcelona for a longest period of time in the Primera Division. Athletic de Bilbao used to play until 2012 in the San Mames stadium (also known as La Catedral).
