There will be fireworks when Chile and Uruguay go head to head in Santiago de Chile on Wednesday morning. La Roja aim to make amends for a heavy 4-0 loss to Brazil, and they have no other choice but to go all guns blazing at La Celeste. Blackburn attacker Brereton remains in the recovery room, while Alexis Sanchez should keep his place up front, alongside Edu Vargas. Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal is likely to start as well.
Uruguay, on the other hand, did well to beat Peru thanks to Giorgian De Arrascaeta’s goal, with the team securing their place at the World Cup finals. La Celeste have nothing to play for in Wednesday’s clash, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. Matias Vecino is a major doubt following his recent positive test for coronavirus.

Arturo Vidal is a Chilean international who started his senior career at Colo-Colo. In 2007 he moved to Europe, signing a deal with Bayer Leverkusen. After making 117 league appearances for the Bundesliga outfit from 2007 to 2011, he joined Juventus on 22 July, 2011 for a fee of €10.5 million.
Vidal won four Serie A trophies with the Bianconeri and he participated in the Champions League final against Barcelona on 6 June, 2015. The Serie A giants, though, were beaten by Barca in the title game. In the summer of 2015 he moved to Bayern Munich and he won the Bundesliga trophies with Pep Guardiola’s team in the 2015/2016 season. Speaking of his international career, Vidal won two Copa America trophies with Chile (2015, 2016).
The Chilean ace is a central midfielder, but he is capable of playing as both as defensive at attacking midfielder as well. His contract with Bayern Munich expires on 30 June, 2019.

La Celeste are one of the most successful South American nations. Uruguay are frequently the champions of the continent having most recently won the tournament in 2011. They have won the Copa America a record 15 times including the first ever edition of the competition in 1916, while the team has also won FIFA World Cup in two occasions including the inaugural competition in 1930 when they defeated Argentina 4-2 in the final as hosts.
Their second World Cup title came in 1950 when Uruguay and Brazil played a legendary match which recorded a higher attendance than any other football match in the history of the game.
