All eyes will be on Stade Mustapha Tchaker when Algeria and Cameroon face each other in the World Cup playoffs final, return leg. Algeria did well to shock Cameroon in Limbe thanks to Islam Slimani’s goal, and, as a result, they are with one foot at the showpiece tournament in Qatar. Despite failing to find the net in the first leg, a man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Manchester City ace Riyad Mahrez, who is eyeing his 75th cap with the Algeria national team.
Les Lions Indomitables, on the other hand, aim to overcome a one-goal deficit in the decider. Since Cameroon must adopt an attack-minded approach in the return leg, we are tempted to put our money on Algeria, who should have a number of chances to score on the break. Vincent Aboubakar should be fit for the decider despite picking up a knock in the first leg.
Highlighted Player (Youcef Atal):
The Boghni born Algerian started playing football at the age of ten when he joined CR Belouizdinad's youth academy in 2006. His decade long youth career saw him feature for other more Algerian teams before signing a professional contract with the last one, namely Paradou AC, in 2015.
Atal, who predominantly plays as a right-back, made his first professional appearance on the 9th of January 2016, playing in Paradou's 3-0 over CR Beni Thour in the Coupe d'Algerie. His performances during his 17/18 loan spell at Belgian Club Kortrijk earned him a move to France with OGC Nice in 2018.
At Nice, the 23-year-old has become a valuable first-team player and is on a five-year contract expiring in 2023. On the International stage, Atal has capped 14 times for Algeria, making his debut on the 6th of June, 2017, in a friendly against Guinea.

Cameroon are an African team that played their first ever game against Belgian Congo back in 1956. The Indomitable Lions made 7 appearances at the World Cup finals and they recorded their best result at the major tournament in 1990. Cameroon made it to the 1990 World Cup quarter-finals by beating Colombia in the last 16, but England proved to be a big catch for the African team.
Speaking of African Cup of Nations, Cameroon clinched their fourth CAN trophy in 2002, when they defeated Senegal in the title game.
