Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Sixfields Stadium will host Monday’s League Two game between Northampton Town and Harrogate. The Cobblers aim to build on a 2-0 win over Oldham, and they are eager to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive. Paul Lewis is banned for the match, Sid Nelson misses out with injury, while Tyler Magloire is a major doubt. The Sulphurites, on the other hand, are on a three-game losing run in the English fourth tier.
Harrogate are ten points clear of the relegation zone, meaning that they will almost certainly secure the League Two survival. Considering that the visitors head into the season finale with the lack of motivation, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise. As for the visiting team, both Brahima Diarra and Lloyd Kerry are out of contention with injuries, with Rory McArdle pushing for a recall.
Highlighted Player (Joseph Mills):
Joseph Mills is an Aston Villa product who plays for Northampton Town in the League One. Mills moved to Southampton in 2006, and he continued playing for the Saints at senior level. After ending his loan spells with Scunthorpe United and Doncaster Rovers, the pacey left-back joined Reading in 2011, but he made no more than 15 appearances for the Royals in the league.
After his short spell with Burnley, Joseph Mills moved to Oldham Athletic, and it has to be noted that he played for the likes of Perth Glory, Shrewsbury Town, and Forest Green Rovers as well before moving to Northampton Town.
Mills was born in Swindon, England on October 30, 1989, and he wears the No. 23 shirt with the Cobblers. His primary position is left-back, but coaches use him as a left midfielder as well. He has a contract with Northampton Town which should expire in June 2022.
Highlighted Team (Harrogate):
Harrogate Town is an English club that welcomes their rivals at Wetherby Road. Opened on August 28, 1920, the venue can hold up to 5,000 spectators (500 seated). The club was founded back in 1914, with the Sulphurties facing Horsforth in their first competitive match on August 30, 1919.
Harrogate Town footballers wear yellow and black shirts when playing at home, while pink is the dominant colour of their away jersey. The Sulphurties did well to win the Whitworth Cup in the 1919/20 season, while the club’s biggest success in the FA Cup came in the 2012/13 when they made it to the second round.
Simon Weaver is one of the most notable footballers who played for Harrogate Town in the past. The team’s manager for the 2020/21 season played for several English clubs, and he has been very successful in the coaching job as well.
