A place at the 2022 World Cup finals will be at stake when UAE and Australia go head to head at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan on Tuesday. UAE booked their place in the playoffs thanks to a hard-fought 1-0 win over South Korea, but they will have a mountain to climb in the decider. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Al Jazira forward Ali Mabkhout, who scored 80 goals in 104 appearances for the national team.
The Socceroos, on the other hand, head into the match following a 2-1 win over Jordan. Australia are more of a team than UAE, and we predict that Graham Arnold’s men will prove their worth on the field. UAE defenders should have Kasimpasa winger Awer Mabil at bay as the 26-year-old found the net in the last warm-up game.

Mathew Leckie is an Australian footballer who plays for Koln as a striker. Leckie was born on 4 February, 1991 in Melbourne and he started his youth career at Bulleen Lions. He made 37 league appearances for the Lions at senior level, scoring 15 goals for the club.
In 2009 he joined fellow Australian outfit Adelaide United and he netted eight goals in 35 league appearances for the club between 2009 and 2011. In 2011 he decided to move to Europe as he signed a contract with Bundesliga side Borussia M’gladbach. He scored first goal for the club in a 5-2 win over Aberdeen (friendly) on 9 July, 2011. In 2013 he joined FSV Frankfurt and he played 31 games for the club in the 2. Bundesliga.
On 7 May, 2014 he signed a three-year deal with Ingolstadt and he has been playing for die Schanzer ever since. Matthew Leckie has 13 caps for Australia U-20 and he made his debut for the senior team on 14 November, 2012 in a friendly against Republic of Korea. The 181-cm-tall attacker, who is capable as playing as a winger as well, has a contract with Ingolstadt which expires on 30 June, 2018.

Australia are a member of the Asian Football Confederation as they left the Oceania Football Confederation in 2006. The Socceroos made it to the World Cup finals for the first time back in 1974, but they failed to make it to the knockout stages of the showpiece tournament in Germany. In 2006, though, the Australians did well to advance to the last 16 of the FIFA World Cup, but eventual champions Italy proved to be a big catch for Guus Hiddink’s troops.
Australia participated at the World Cup finals in 2010 and 2014 as well, but they failed to impress at the tournaments in South Africa and Brazil respectively. In 2015 the Socceroos won the Asian Cup trophy, with the team beating South Korea in the title game and that is regarded as the team’s biggest success.
Tim Cahill is considered one of the most famous footballers that played for Australia and it has to be noted that the former Premier League star scored his 48th goal for the Socceroos in a 1-0 win over UAE in September, 2016.
