Lorient
Rennes will be aiming to make amends for a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa when they host Lorient to their Roazhon Park in the opening match of the season. Les Rouges et Noirs are once again seen as one of the teams to beat in the French top flight, but they will have to prove their worth on the field in Sunday’s clash. Nayef Aguerd is no longer part of the team, while his replacement Arthur Theate is likely to make his official Rennes debut against Lorient.
Defender Warmed Omari should be the only absentee in the home team. Les Merlus, on the other hand, were having their ups and downs in pre-season, but their opponents were anything but tough. Since Rennes chiefs managed to keep hold of key players in the summer transfer window, home win should definitely be considered. There are no injury worries in the away team ahead of the season opener.

Born in Longjumeau, France on February 2, 1993, Flavien Tait is a French footballer who plays for Angers as a midfielder. Tait began his youth career at Rodez and in 2010 he moved to Chateauroux. After spending first years of his senior career at Chateauroux, the 175-cm tall footballer joined Angers in 2016 and he has been playing for les Scoistes ever since.
Flavien Tait impressed in the 2017/2018 Ligue 1 campaign and it has to be noted that he scored 4 goals in 34 appearances for Angers in the process. His main position is winger, but he is often used as an attacking midfielder. Flavien Tait’s preferred foot is right and he wears No. 20 jersey at Angers.
His contract with les Scoistes should expire on June 30, 2020. It has to be noted that his market value was €4.5 million on June 4, 2018.Flavien Tait has yet to make his France debut.

Founded back in 1926, Lorient is a French football club that competes in Ligue 1. Les Merlus have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy, but they did well to go all the way in the Coupe de France in the 2001/02 season. In the title game, Lorient defeated Bastia thanks to Jean-Claude Darcheville’s goal.
The same season les Merlus made it to the Coupe de la Ligue final, but Bordeaux proved to be a big catch (0-3) for them in the title game. Lorient welcome their rivals at Stade du Moustoir, the stadium which can hold up to 16,392 spectators. The colour of the team’s home shirt is orange with a little black on it, while white is the dominant colour of their away jersey. In the 2002/03 season Lorient represented France in European competitions.
Les Merlus, though, failed to impress on their debut in the UEFA Cup as they were beaten by Denizlispor in the round 1 double-header.
