Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Barrow and Walsall square off against each other at Holker Street on day 4 of the new League Two campaign. Following back-to-back wins over Stockport County and Bradford City, Barrow suffered a 1-0 loss to Sutton in their last league match to drop to 6th place in the standings. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team, with Josh Gordon being ready to face his former club.
The Saddlers, on the other hand, aim to overtake Leyton Orient in top position, and seeing that the visitors will go for a win in Tuesday’s clash as well, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. As for the visiting side, all Liam Gordon, Conor Wilkinson, Oisin McEntee, and Joss Labadie are out of contention with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Luke James):
After starting his senior career at Hartlepool United, Luke James moved to Peterborough United in 2014. The English attacker played for the likes of Bradford City and Bristol Rovers on loan as well before joining Forest Green in the 2017/18 season.
After making 14 appearances in the league for the Green Army, Luke James returned to Hartlepool. In the summer of 2020 he joined his current club Barrow. James made his Barrow debut in the League two on September 12, 2009 in a 1-1 draw with Stevenage, and he scored his first goal for the club the following month in a 2-2 draw with Walsall.
His main position is centre-forward, but he is capable of producing fine displays as a winger as well. Born in Amble, England on November 4, 1994, Luke James has a contract with Barrow until July 20, 2020. His preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Walsall):
Founded in 1888, Walsall are a professional club that play home matches at Bescot Stadium. The capacity of the venue is 11,300 people and it was opened in 1990. Nicknamed the Saddlers, Walsall footballers wear red shirts and white shorts when playing in front of home fans, while black is the dominant colour of their away kit.
Walsall played out a goalless draw with Aston Villa on April 9, 1888 in their first ever game, with the team recording their biggest win on March 4, 1899 against Darwen (10-0). The Saddlers suffered their biggest defeat on December 17, 1892 as they were beaten by Small Heath 12-0.
Walsall fans consider wolverhampton wanderers the club’s biggest rivals, but the Saddlers have rivalries with Shrewsbury Town and Port Vale as well as the two clubs are only 30 miles away from Walsall. Crystal Palace centre-back Scott Dann is one of the most notable footballers who played for the Bescot Stadium.
