Stade Louis II will host Wednesday’s Ligue 1 game between Monaco and Troyes. Les Rouges et Blancs are eyeing their sixth consecutive win over Bruno Irles’ team, and their display in a 1-1 draw with star-studded PSG is surely giving fans a reason for optimism. Even though German attacker Kevin Volland limped off with injury in the Ligue 1 derby, home win should be considered. Volland has joined the likes of Yllan Okou, Willem Geubbels, and Myron Boadu in the treatment room.
Troyes, on the other hand, quickly bounced back from a 4-1 loss to Lyon, with the team beating Angers 3-1 in front of home fans. Anyhow, the visitors face an uphill task in the midweek clash, and seeing that Monaco do not suit them, home win should be considered. Both Andreas Bruus and Karim Azamoum are out of contention with injuries, while defender Abdu Conte is a major doubt.

Nicknamed Pele, Judilson Mamadu Tuncara Gomes is a 183-cm-tall midfielder who was born in Aqualva-Cacem Portugal. Despite being born in Portugal, Pele decided to represent Guinea-Bissau on the international stage. Judilson Mamadu Tuncara Gomes made two appearances Portugal U19 team, while receiving a call-up for the U20 team for a friendly against France.
Speaking of his senior debut, Pele played his first match for Guinea-Bissau on June 10, 2017 in a 1-0 win over Namibia. As for his club career, the Guinea-Bissau international played for the likes of Belenenses, Genoa, Milan, Arsenal Kyiv, Olhanense, Benfica, Pacos Ferreira, Feirense, Rio Ave and Monaco before joining Nottingham Forest on loan in 2019.
His main position is defensive midfield, but he is used as a central midfielder as well. Pele’s preferred foot is right and he has a contract with Monaco which should expire on June 30, 2023.

Founded in 1986, Troyes are considered one of the youngest clubs in French Ligue 1. Troyes returned to the top flight at the end of the 2016/2017 season, with the team finishing the regular season in third place in the Ligue 2 standings. Jean Louis Garcia’s men proved their worth in the promotion play-offs, with the team beating Lorient in the two-legged tie.
Troyes are well known for their blue shirts, but they wear white when playing on the travels. Stade de l’Aube is the club’s home ground and the stadium can hold up to 20.400 spectators. The venue was built in 1924, but it was renovated on two occasions (1956, 2004). The club have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy, but in 1956 they made it to the French Cup final.
Troyes faced Sedan in the title game and they were totally outplayed by Louis Dugauguez’s troops (3-1) at Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir. Roger Courtois’ team were three goals down after 57 minutes, but five minutes later Fernand De Vlaeminck scored a consolation goal for the Stade de l’Aube outfit.
