Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
All eyes will be on Estadio de Gran Canaria when Las Palmas and Granada face each other in the Segunda Division derby on Matchday 7. La Union Deportiva failed to turn their dominance into victory in a goalless draw with Racing Santander, and they face a difficult task in Sunday’s showdown. Since there are no fresh injury worries in the home side, head coach Francisco Pimienta is unlikely to make changes to the team that shared the spoils with los Verdiblancos at the weekend.
Los Granadinos, on the other hand, aim to build on a 2-1 win over Mirandes, but given their anything but brilliant away record, the share of spoils is on the cards at Estadio de Gran Canaria. A man to watch in the away side will be summer signing Jose Callejon, while Ignasi Miquel has joined fellow defender Raul Torrente in the recovery room.
Highlighted Player (Enzo Loiodice):
Enzo Loiodice, who was born in Paris, France on the 27th of November, 2000, started playing football at the age of eight with SC Paris. His journey as a youth player continued at FC Gobelins before completing at Dijon, where he is now a first-team player on a contract that ends in 2012.
On the 28th of April, 2018, Loidice made his professional debut, featuring in Dijon's 3-1 away loss to Bordeaux in League one. The 19-year-old midfielder, who is known for his ball retention ability and vision, represents his country at the youth level.
He made his under-20 team debut in an international friendly against Argentina U20 on the 20th of March, 2019, and has so far capped six times for his country at that level. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of producing fine performances as a defensive midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Granada):
Granada are an Andalusian football club that plays in Spanish La Liga. The club were founded on 14 April, 1931 and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy. El Grana, though, booked their place in the Spanish Cup final in 1959, but Barcelona proved to be a big catch for the Andalusian outfit.
Granada host their rivals at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes, the stadium that was built in 1995. The capacity of the stadium is 23,934. Granada’s main rivals are fellow Andalusian team Sevilla, but Real Betis are regarded as the club’s bitter rivals as well.
The likes of Yacine Brahimi, Juan Aguero, Gustavo Benitez, Pahinho, Denis Milar, Julio Montero Castillo, Capi, Cesar and Jose Mingorance are famous players that were part of the Estadio El Sadar outfit in the past. The original colour of Granada’s kits were blue and white, but after the Spanish Civil War the club chiefs bought new ones (red and white).
