Valladolid
After playing out a 2-2 draw with Cadiz at the weekend, Espanyol will be aiming to escape the danger zone when they face Real Valladolid on Matchday 9. Los Periquitos are eager to put an end to their four-game winless run, and it seems as if they will not have a better chance than this to get back on course. Both Nico Melamed and Adria Pedrosa should miss out with injuries, while summer signing Martin Braithwaite is back from suspension.
La Pucela, on the other hand, played out a boring goalless draw with Real Betis in their last league match. Considering that Real Valladolid conceded two or more goals in each of their last three away games in the Spanish top flight, we are tempted to put our money on Espanyol. Both Jawad El Yamiq and Sergio Asenjo are out of contention with injuries, while Luis Perez is a major doubt.

Benjamin Lecomte is a French goalkeeper who started playing football at the age of six. Lecomte was born in Paris on April 26, 1991 and in 1997 he joined Arcueil Municipal football academy. After spending eight years at the club he joined Antony Sports in 2006 and four years later he moved to Niort. Finally, he continued his footballing development at Lorient.
The 186-cm-tall shoot-stopper played 22 games Lorient B before making his first-team debut in October 2010 in a Coupe de la Ligue match against AS Monaco. In January 2011 Benjamin Lecomte signed a professional contract with les Merlus and it has to be noted that he made 119 appearance in the league for the club from 2010 to 2017.
In 2017 he moved to Montpellier, signing a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 outfit. The Montpellier goalkeeper has 2 caps for France U20 team, but he has yet to make his debut for the senior team.

Founded in 1928, Real Valladolid play their home matches at Jose Zorilla, the venue that has the capacity 26,512. La Pucela have yet to win the La Liga title, but it is important to note that they finished fourth at the end of the 1962/1963 season.
