Ferencvaros
Trabzonspor will be aiming to book their place in the Europa League last 32 when they face Ferencvaros in the decider on Thursday evening. The Turks want to keep their 100% record at home intact, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the Hungarian champions. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team as Trabzonspor were not in action in the national championship at the weekend.
The Green and Whites, on the other hand, secured top position in Group H thanks to a 1-1 draw with Monaco. Ferencvaros have little to play for in the Medical Park Stadium showdown, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on Abdullah Avci’s charges. The good news for the visitors is that defender Mats Knoester is back to the starting XI after missing the last group game through suspension.

Maxi Gomez is a strong player with a bulking physique. His friends call him Gucci in reference to a weighty singer from Uruguay – Gustavo ‘El Gucci’ Serafini. Having first stepped on the stage with Defensor Sporting in 2015, Maxi grabbed the spotlight in the penalty shootout against Lanus in the Copa Sudamericana Round of 16 when he displayed commendable courage and composure to send his team through in the competition.
Fearless and utterly intrepid in his exploits, Maxi Gomez was sold to Celta de Vigo in 2017 where he would go on to make an instant impact – with a brace on his debut, in a 3-2 defeat against Real Sociedad.

Established back in 1899, Ferencvaros are the most successful Hungarian club. The Zold Sasok clinched their 30th domestic trophy in the 2018/2019 season, but they eventually failed to book their place in the Champions League. Dinamo Zagreb proved to be a big catch for Ferencvaros in the Champions League play-offs, but the Green Eagles booked their spot in the Europa League group stages for the first time ever the same season.
Ferencvaros are well known for their green and white home kit, but they wear white shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels. Ujpest are considered the club’s fiercest rivals, whilst Ferencvaros and MTK Budapest face each other in the Eternal derby.
Honved are seen as the club’s bitter rivals as well. Back in 1975 the Zold Sasok made it to the UEFA Cup Winner’s Cup, with the team losing to Ukrainian club Dynamo Kiev in the title game. Sandor Kocsis, who scored 75 goals in 68 appearances for the Hungarian national team, is the club’s most notable footballer.
