Our prediction for this Premier League match:
After coming from two goals behind to share the spoils with Brentford, Tottenham will be looking to stay in top four when they take on Aston Villa on Sunday. Spurs are after their seventh home win of the process, and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at the Villans on Matchday 18. A man to watch in the home team will be Harry Kane, who scored his 13th goal of the season on Boxing Day, whereas all Romero, Richarlison, and Romero are out of contention with injuries.
Meanwhile, the Villans experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool, which is yet another reason why we are going to bet on Antonio Conte’s troops. Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez should be recalled to the starting XI after he was rested against the Reds, while both Diego Carlos and Jacob Ramsey are sidelined with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Ben Davies):
After graduating from the Swansea City academy, Ben Davies was surprisingly given a chance to shine as Neil Taylor suffered a difficult injured, and he grabbed it with both hands to become a starter in his first ever Premier League season. The Welsh left-back, who is also capable of operating in the heart of defence, continued with impressive performances in the elite division and one more strong season saw Tottenham Hotspur express their interest in his services and eventually secured his signature.
Davies has since been vying England international Danny Rose for a starting position and even though he has been playing second fiddle of late, the defender is seen as a great prospect for the future.
After initially playing at left-back in the Wales National team, Davies was moved to left centre-back position as Chris Coleman switched to 5-4-1 formation, and he has impressed playing alongside captain Ashley Williams and James Chester as the Dragons clinched qualification to the Euro 2016 finals.
Highlighted Team (Aston Villa):
Aston Villa is one of the three clubs that dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign. The Villans host their rivals at Villa Park, the stadium that was opened in 1897 and its’ capacity is 42,682. However, it has to be noted that the highest attendance recorded at the stadium was 76,588 when Aston Villa faced Derby County in the FA Cup back in 1946.
Aston Villa’s fiercest rivals are Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion. Nonetheless, the rivalry between Aston Villa and Wolves and Coventry City is big as well. Aston Villa have won seven First Division (Premier League) trophies, with the team clinching seven FA Cup trophies as well.
The team’s biggest success, though, came in 1982 when they won the European Cup. The Villans defeated Bayern Munich (1-0) in the title game and Peter Withe was named the man of the match.
