Burton Albion will look to make amends for back-to-back heavy losses to Morecambe (0-5) and Burton (0-4) when they take on Peterborough United on Matchday 26. The Brewers have been struggling at the back of late, and, as a result they sit in the relegation ahead of the visit of the Posh. January signing Jordan Amissah should keep his place in goal, while both Sam Hughes and Conor Shaughnessy are out of contention with injuries.
Meanwhile, the visitors aim to move closer to the playoffs berth. Peterborough proved their worth in a 2-0 win over Port Vale, and given Burton’s shaky defence, we predict that the visitors are going to pick up all three points from the match. Sam Winnall began his professional career at the age of 19. The striker, who was born on 19 January, 1991, made his Wolverhampton debut in May 2009 and he has been playing for a number of English clubs ever since.
He was on loan at Burton Albion, Hereford United, Inverness CT and Shrewsbury Town and in the 2013/2014 campaign he signed a contract with Scunthorpe United. Sam Winnall scored 23 goals in 45 appearances for the club and, as a result, secured a lucrative move to Barnsley in 2014. He went on to score his first goal for Barnsley on 23 August 2014 in a 4-1 win over Gillingham.
Winnall helped Barnsley eliminate Walsall in the 2015/2016 League One semis as he scored a brace in the first leg. It has to be noted that he scored 23 goals in the English second tier in the 2015/2016 season. He provided 8 assists for his teammates during the season and he finished the campaign as the third highest goalscorer in the league, just behind Nicky Ajose and Will Grigg.
