Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Huesca welcome Mirandes to their Estadio El Alcoraz on day 26 of the 2022/2023 La Liga 2 campaign. Los Azulgranas are on a six-game winless run in Segunda Division, and, as things stand now, they will find it hard to book their place in the playoffs. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team, but Daniel Escriche could sneak into the starting XI.
Los Rojillos, on the other hand, aim to make amends for back-to-back losses to Las Palmas and Deportivo Alaves. Since Mirandes have been struggling at the back of late, we are tempted to put our money on the home side. As for the visitors, January signing Javier Llabres is pushing for his first start after joining the club on loan from Mallorca. In their last meeting at the venue Huesca hammered Mirandes 4-0, which is yet another reason why we are going to bet on the home side.
Highlighted Player (Manu Garcia):
Manu Garcia is a product of Real Sociedad youth academy. The Spanish midfielder, who was born on 26 April, 1986, started playing for Real Sociedad B at the age of 19, making 101 appearances for the Basque outfit between 2005 and 2008. He scored 18 goals for Real Sociedad B and, as a result, Eibar chiefs decided to sign him in July, 2008. Manu Garcia spent the 2008/2009 season on loan at Real Union, scoring eight goals in 29 appearances for the club and in 2010 he joined Logrones.
Finally, in June 2012 he made probably the best decision of his career as he signed a contract with Segunda Division side Deportivo Alaves. Manu Garcia made 37 appearances for El Glorioso on his debut season and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular.
Garcia scored five goals for Alaves in the 2015/2016 Segunda Division campaign and, no doubt, he helped the team secure promotion to Primera Division. He has a contract with Alaves which expires on 30 June, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Mirandes):
Mirandes is a Spanish club founded on May 3, 1927. Los Rojillos compete in Segunda division, with the team still eyeing their first ever promotion to La Liga. Mirandes’ home colours are red and black, while their away kit is mainly light blue.
Mirandes did remarkably well to make it to the Copa del Rey semis in the 2019/20 season, with the team outplaying the likes of Celta, Villarreal, and Sevilla in the process. Real Sociedad, though, proved to be a big catch for Mirandes in the Spanish Cup semis. Los Rojillos welcome their rivals at Estadio Municipal de Anduva. The stadium was opened back in 1950, with the venue being able to host 5,759 spectators.
Mirandes played their first game on June 4, 1927, with the team defeating Arabarra thanks to Fidel Angulo’s goal. Zaragoza and Alaves are considered one of the club’s main rivals. Los Rojillos have won Castilla and Leon Cup on two occasions (2011, 2012).
