Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Following a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, Manchester United will look to stay in the title race when they take on Leeds United in a postponed Premier League game. The Red Devils are eyeing their seventh consecutive win on home soil, and they will continue to rely on Marcus Rashford, who scored his 10th goal of the process against the Eagles. Casemiro is banned for the match, while Christian Eriksen has joined Scott McTominay and Van de Beek in the starting XI.
January signing Marcel Sabitzer is likely to make his full Man Utd debut against Leeds. The Whites, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest, and given their poor away record (1-2-7) in the 2022/2023 season, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise. Robin Koch is back from suspension, while latest signing Weston McKennie is pushing for a start.
Highlighted Player (Marcus Rashford):
Marcus Rashford is one of the most talented English footballers. Rashford was born in Wythenshawe, Manchester on October 31, 1997 and he began his youth career at Fletcher Moss Rangers. Manchester United scouts spotted him in 2005 when he joined the famous Premier League club.
The pacey footballer, who is capable of playing as both winger and striker, marked his Manchester United first-team debut with two goals in a 5-1 crushing of Midtjylland in the Europa League.
Marcus Rashford scored seven goals in 35 appearances for the Red Devils in the 2017/2018 Premier League season. Speaking of his international debut, the Manchester United attacker played his first match for England against Australia on May 27, 2016 and he did well to find the net in a 2-1 win over the Socceroos.
After producing fine displays with Manchester United in the 2017/2018 season, Marcus Rashford was named in the 23-man England national team squad that will take part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Highlighted Team (Leeds United):
Leeds United is one of the clubs that won the FA Cup. The Whites outplayed Arsenal in the final of the prestigious competition back in 1972, but they clinched the League Cup trophy as well. Leeds United faced the Gunners in the 1967/1968 League Cup final and it has to be noted that Terry Cooper scored the winner for the Whites.
Leeds play their home games at Elland Road and the capacity of the stadium is 37,914. The club was founded in 1919 and they have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies ever since (1968/1969, 1973/1974, 1991/1992). Leeds United made it to the Champions League final in 1975, but they were beaten by Bayern Munich in the title clash.
The Whites were impressive under David O’Leary. The likes of Jonathan Woodgate, Lee Bowyer, Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka and Ian Harte were part of the Elland Road outfit back then and they did well to reach the semis of the Champions League in 2001.
