Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Goodison Park will host Saturday’s relegation six-pointer between Everton and Leeds United, who were beaten by Manchester United and Liverpool respectively on Matchday 23. The Toffees failed to impress in the Merseyside derby, but the fact that they defeated Arsenal in their last home fixture is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Leeds. New boss Sean Dyche has no fresh injury worries, but both Patterson and Townsend remain in the recovery room. Centre-forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
Meanwhile, the Whites failed to impress in the 2-0 loss to Man Utd, and given their poor away record in the 2022/2023 season (1-3-7), we believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts. Leeds United’s injury list is pretty long, including the likes of Gray, Forshaw, Perkins and Rodrigo, to name just a few.
Highlighted Player (Alex Iwobi):
Alex Iwobi is one of the most talented African footballers. The Nigerian football player was born in Lagos on May 3, 1996, but he moved to Arsenal at the age of 8. In 2015 he made his first-team debut for the Gunners, starting in a 3-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup.
Speaking of his Premier League debut, Alex Iwobi played his first game for Arsenal in a 3-0 victory over Swansea City in October, 2015. The pacey winger played for England at youth level, but he eventually went on to play for Nigeria. Iwobi made his senior debut with the Super Eagles on October 8, 2015, coming as a substitute for Ahmed Musa in a 2-0 loss to DR Congo.
On October 7, 2017 the Arsenal footballer scored the winner for Nigeria against Zambia (1-0) which helped the Super Eagles book their place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals. Speaking of his individual trophies, Alex Iwobi was named CAF Young Player of the Year 2016.
Highlighted Team (Leeds United):
Leeds United is one of the clubs that won the FA Cup. The Whites outplayed Arsenal in the final of the prestigious competition back in 1972, but they clinched the League Cup trophy as well. Leeds United faced the Gunners in the 1967/1968 League Cup final and it has to be noted that Terry Cooper scored the winner for the Whites.
Leeds play their home games at Elland Road and the capacity of the stadium is 37,914. The club was founded in 1919 and they have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies ever since (1968/1969, 1973/1974, 1991/1992). Leeds United made it to the Champions League final in 1975, but they were beaten by Bayern Munich in the title clash.
The Whites were impressive under David O’Leary. The likes of Jonathan Woodgate, Lee Bowyer, Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka and Ian Harte were part of the Elland Road outfit back then and they did well to reach the semis of the Champions League in 2001.
