Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Everton will be aiming to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Leeds United when they take on Aston Villa in the Premier League round 25. The Toffees have been showing signs of improvement ever since Sean Dyche took over the reins, and, no doubt, the former Burnley manager is capable of helping the team avoid relegation. With no fresh injury worries to report, Sean Dyche is unlikely to make changes to the team that outplayed the Whites at the weekend, but both Andros Townsend and Dominic Calvert-Lewin remain in the recovery room.
Meanwhile, the Villans produced a fine display against Arsenal, but they were more than unfortunate not to grab something from the match. Unai Emery’s men extended their losing run to three games, but they are surely capable of holding Everton to a draw at Goodison Park. Defender Diego Carlos should be the only absentee in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Alex Iwobi):
Alex Iwobi is one of the most talented African footballers. The Nigerian football player was born in Lagos on May 3, 1996, but he moved to Arsenal at the age of 8. In 2015 he made his first-team debut for the Gunners, starting in a 3-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup.
Speaking of his Premier League debut, Alex Iwobi played his first game for Arsenal in a 3-0 victory over Swansea City in October, 2015. The pacey winger played for England at youth level, but he eventually went on to play for Nigeria. Iwobi made his senior debut with the Super Eagles on October 8, 2015, coming as a substitute for Ahmed Musa in a 2-0 loss to DR Congo.
On October 7, 2017 the Arsenal footballer scored the winner for Nigeria against Zambia (1-0) which helped the Super Eagles book their place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals. Speaking of his individual trophies, Alex Iwobi was named CAF Young Player of the Year 2016.
Highlighted Team (Aston Villa):
Aston Villa is one of the three clubs that dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign. The Villans host their rivals at Villa Park, the stadium that was opened in 1897 and its’ capacity is 42,682. However, it has to be noted that the highest attendance recorded at the stadium was 76,588 when Aston Villa faced Derby County in the FA Cup back in 1946.
Aston Villa’s fiercest rivals are Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion. Nonetheless, the rivalry between Aston Villa and Wolves and Coventry City is big as well. Aston Villa have won seven First Division (Premier League) trophies, with the team clinching seven FA Cup trophies as well.
The team’s biggest success, though, came in 1982 when they won the European Cup. The Villans defeated Bayern Munich (1-0) in the title game and Peter Withe was named the man of the match.
