Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Alexandra Stadium will host Saturday’s football game between Crewe and Rochdale, the two bottom-table sides. The Railwaymen are undefeated in the previous four league matches, but they need to start winning on a regular basis if they are to rejoin the playoffs race. There are no fresh selection worries in the home team, but midfielder Callum Ainley could sneak into the starting XI.
The Dale, meanwhile, suffered yet another dip in form, and given their three-game losing run in the English fourth tier, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts. Goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell is a major doubt after missing the last league match with injury. In the first half of the season Crewe defeated Rochdale 2-1, which is yet another reason why we are going to put our money on the home team. You should know that the Dale are on a three-game losing run on the road in the League Two.
Highlighted Player (Liam Kelly):
Born in Newport Pagnell, England Liam Kelly is a right-footed midfielder who plays for Coventry City in the League One. Kelly is a product of Milton Keynes Dons football school, but he did not play for the club at senior level. The English footballer started his senior career at Scottish club Kilmarnock, but after making 100 appearances in the league for the Killie, he moved to England, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with Bristol City.
The English footballer played for the likes of Oldaham Athletic and Leyton Orient as well before joining Coventry City in the summer of 2017. His main position is central midfielder, but he is capable of playing as both defensive and right midfielder as well.
His preferred foot is right. He made his league debut with Coventry City on August 5, 2017 in a 3-0 win over Notts County, while scoring his first goal for the club in a 3-1 win over Stevenage in April, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Crewe):
Crewe Aleandra are a professional football club that welcome their rivals at Gresty Road. The stadium was built in 1906, and it can hold up to 10,153 spectators. Founded back in 1877, Crewe Alexandra play their home games in red shirts and white shorts, while yellow is the dominant colour of their away kit.
The Railwaymen played their first game against North Staffs in 1877, with the two teams sharing the spoils (1-1) at Alexandra Recreation Ground. Nowadays, Crewe compete in the League 2 where they take on their main rivals Port Vale. In 2014 a match between the two sides resulted in violence and arrests. The likes of Wrexham, Macclesfield Town, Shrewsbury Town, and Stoke City are considered the club’s rivals as well.
In 2013 Crewe Alexandra clinched the Football League Trophy as they defeated Southend United 2-0 in the title game at Wembley Stadium. Goals from Max Clayton and Luke Murphy helped the Railwaymen clinch their first and only Football League Trophy.
