Our prediction for this MLS match:
Cincinnati and Seattle Sounders face each other at TQL Stadium in what is expected to be one of the most exciting games of Sunday’s program. Cincinnati kicked off the new MLS campaign with a 2-1 win over Houston Dynamo, with the team sharing the spoils with Orlando City at the weekend, and they are surely capable of matching the Sounders on home soil. Dutch goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer remains in the recovery room, but he should be the only absentee in the home team.
Meanwhile, Seattle aim to build on back-to-back wins over Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry at TQL Stadium. Since the Sounders are not considered good travellers, we predict that Cincinnati are going to pick up all three points from the match. Midfielder Obed Vargas misses out with a muscle problem, speaking of the away team.
Highlighted Player (Luciano Acosta):
Luciano Acosta is a professional footballer who plays for DC United as an attacking midfielder. Acosta was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on May 31, 1994 and he started his senior career at his hometown club Boca Juniors. After scoring 2 goals in 25 appearances for the famous Argentine club, the 160-cm tall footballer joined Estudiantes on loan in 2016.
In 2017 he moved to DC United and he has been playing for the MlS club ever since. Luciano Acosta impressed in the 2018 season, with the Argentina international scoring 10 goals, while providing 15 assists for his teammates in the process. Despite producing thrilling showings in the 2018 MLS campaign, he has yet to earn a call-up for the Argentina national football team.
Acosta’s main position is attacking midfielder, but he is capable of playing as both second striker and centre forward as well. He has a contract with DC United which should expire on December 31, 2019 and his preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Seattle Sounders):
Seattle Sounders are an American soccer club that compete in the Western Conference of Major League Soccer. The Sounders are owned by the likes of Joe Roth, Paul Allen, Drew Carey and Adrian Hanauer and they play their home games at CenturyLink Field.
The club won the 2016 MLS Cup, with the team beating Toronto FC on penalties in the trophy game at BMO Field. Swiss goalkeeper Stefan Frei won the MVP honor after pulling off several brilliant saves in the 2016 MLS Cup final.
Winning of the MLS Cup is undisputedly the club’s biggest success, but it has to be noted that the Sounders clinched the Supporters’ Shield trophy in 2014. Seattle hold rivalry with Portland Timbers, but Vancouver Whitecaps are regarded as the club’s bitter rivals as well.
Experienced attacker Clint Dempsey is undisputedly the club’s most significant star and he has been playing for the CenturyLink Field outfit since 2014. He scored eight goals in the league in the 2016 season and, no doubt, he helped the Sounders win their first ever MLS Cup.
