Our prediction for this Premier League match:
There will be fireworks when Arsenal and Chelsea go head to head in the London derby on Tuesday evening. The Gunners are desperate to stay in the title race and they have no other option but to go all guns blazing at their bitter local rivals. Mikel Arteta should opt to make changes to the team that suffered a 4-1 loss to Man City in midweek, with all Nketiah, Trossard, and Jorginho pushing for a start. The likes of Tomiyasu, Saliba, and Elneny remain in the recovery room.
The Blues, meanwhile, are having a season to forget and given their poor display in a 2-0 defeat to Brentford, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the title-chasing hosts. To make things even worse for the visiting side, all Mount, Koulibaly, Cucurella, Broja, and James are out of contention through injuries. Kai Havertz should be fit for the local derby.
Highlighted Player (Granit Xhaka):
Granit Xhaka is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most talented central midfielders at the moment and he is on the radar of quite a few high-profile sides. Just two seasons at FC Basel proved enough to attract interest from Borussia M’gladbach, who secured his signature in the summer of 2012.
The Switzerland international had a slow start to his career in Germany, causing many pundits to start doubting his credentials, but he eventually turn things around to show he is more than capable of playing at the highest level. Acting as a deep-lying playmaker, Xhaka impressed fans and pundits alike with his performances in Bundesliga and European competitions, and he even managed to score a couple of important goals in the process.
Despite his fragile age, the highly regarded footballer has been a key member of the Switzerland national team for quite some time now, scoring 6 goals in his first 40 caps to establish himself as a real leader of the Rossocrociati. The 2014 World Cup, where he scored one goal in four starts, should prove just the first of many major tournaments to come.
Highlighted Team (Chelsea):
Over the years Chelsea have established themselves as one of the dominant forces in the English Premier League. Roberto Di Matteo helped the team win their first ever Champions League trophy (2011/2012), but it has to be noted that they were more than fortunate to beat Bayern Munich in the title game.
Chelsea have been playing at Stamford Bridge since 1876 and they are a real force to be reckoned with at home. The Blues have won seven FA Cups, five League Cups, two UEFA Cup Winners’ Cups and the UEFA Europa League. Rafael Benitez was in charge of the team that faced Benfica in the 2012/2013 Europa League final, with Branislav Ivanovic scoring the winner for the Blues in the title clash.
After lifting the 2014/2015 Premier League trophy, the Blues largely struggled in the next campaign, which saw Jose Mourinho’s second spell with the club come to an end, and Antoine Conte went over to take the reigns for the 2016/2017 season.
