Sunday’s football game at PayPal Park pits together San Jose Earthquakes and Los Angeles FC, the two top-table sides. San Jose played out a 2-2 draw with Austin in their last league match, with Jeremy Ebobisse scoring his 5th goal of the season. The 26-year-old will be the man to watch in the home team, while all Daniel Niko Taskiris, and Nathan Cardoso remain on the sidelines with injuries.
The visitors, on the other hand, shared the spoils with Nashville in their last league match. Los Angeles, though, produced a fine display in the CONCACAF Champions League triumph over Philadelphia Union, which is probably the main reason why away win should be considered. All Timothy Tillman, Eldin Jakupovic, Antonio Leone, and Maxime Crepeau should miss out with injuries for the visiting team. As always, the opposition back-line should have Mexico attacker Carlos Vela.

Over the years Carlos Vela has established himself as one of best Mexican players. Vela was born in Cancun, Mexico, on March 1, 1989 and he played for Guadalajara before joining Arsenal youth school in 2005. The pacey left-footed winger played only 29 games for the Gunners in the Premier League before signing a deal with Real Sociedad.
Carlos Vela played for the likes of Celta Vigo, Salamanca, Osasuna and WBA on loan as well before joining the Basque outfit. Nowadays, the Mexican forward is a Los Angeles FC player and it has to be noted that he scored 14 goals in 29 appearances for the club in the 2018 MLS Season. He is naturally gifted player, quick, intelligent and with very good technique.
Carlos Vela did well to win two CONCACAF Gold Cups with Mexico national football team (2009, 2015) and he was named Real Sociedad player of the year in the 2011/2012 and the 2013/2014 seasons. His main position is right winger, but he is used as a second striker and a centre-forward as well.

San Jose Earthquakes are members of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer. The Quakes have been participating in the league since 1996 and they won their first MLS Cup trophy in 2001. Back then San Jose outplayed star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy in the title game, but it has to be noted that they scored the winner in the extra time.
Two years later the Quakes managed to repeat the success, with the team beating Chicago Fire in the 2003 MLS Cup final. Avaya Stadium is the home ground of San Jose Earthquakes and the capacity of the venue is 18.000. The construction of the stadium cost no less than $100 million and the venue was opened in March, 2015.
